Pros: clean room, generous breakfast Cons: TINY rooms, very bright green light that can't be turned off and lit up the whole room. Paper thin walls, meaning it was quite cold and snoring and talking from adjacent rooms was very audible. Smell of beer had permeated everything in the room. Overall: will not stay again, but maybe I'm just fussy.

This is a basic B&B above the pub. Room is basic but has tea & coffee making, tv and an ensuite with good shower and bath. Substantial cooked breakfast and all for £40 for two people for one night. It doesn't claim to be a luxurious hotel ( it isn't!) but it does offer great value. Friendly landlord and landlady...

After parking the canal boat we wandered into Brinklow. We were made very welcome by the landlord and his staff. Especially welcoming when they found it was my birthday- thanks for the Russian cake!! lol Excellent beer (Timothy Taylors Landlord for me) All drinks served in the correct glasses - I love that! The locals were very friendly with us...

Quintessence of a British pub. Cosy, nice atmosphere and good drinks. It feels traditional, not too modern as some of the new gastro pubs. It has a lovely fire place and nice wooden furniture. Recommended if you are staying in the area e.g Royal Court Hotel.

We, a family of four, stayed at the White Lion last Saturday. We had the larger cottage which we found to be very comfortable and definitely peaceful. Cathy, and her family, were very accommodating from the outset. Her mum was great fun too - nothing was too much trouble for them. The full english breakfast was certainly generous and filling!...

Could not have been more delighted with service which was freindly and beyond the call of duty. Accomodation was really comfortable, clean and value for money.
