Stay here for a wedding recently. The grounds are nice and the decor is slightly dated but that goes for the hall being old etc. not complaining about that. Food was okay. The buffet given at the wedding wasn’t good - hard pieces of bread, chewy sausages, cold wedges. The price of drinks is expensive too as if you want a spirit and a mixer, it’s £5 odd for the spirit and then £3 odd for the mixer as they only have bottles and nothing in tap. No need for it - that’s just greed. The room we stayed in was big - lots of space. Very poor lighting though. Only got one ceiling light near to the door and nothing in the centre of the room. Also, not cleaned the best as there was visible cobwebs all over the room. Ironic really when our check in was delayed because the room was still being cleaned… either way, only stayed for one night as it was for a wedding so unlikely to stay again. The variety at breakfast was good though! Full English, meats, cheeses, pastries, yoghurts, cereals.…
Thank you to Ansty Hall! Our wedding was as close to perfect as you might reasonably hope with well-prepared food, served in a delightful location on a blisteringly hot day during which the staff were always attentive to the comfort of our guests. Everybody who stayed overnight at the hotel commented on the quality of the rooms, and appreciated the special prices for guests. We were managed through the whole (terrifying) process of getting married by Morgan, Lucy, Richard and Kelly who were expert, and always calm and reassuring, and reception staff were always attentive and helpful. Yes we have some minor quibbles, but in the context of the bigger picture they aren't worth the mention. Would we use Ansty Hall to get married again? Well no we aren't planning on doing that. But would we recommend it to family and friends? Yes we surely would.…
It was the first time that we visited the Macdonald Ansty Hall Hotel and hopefully it won't be the last. We decided to have an afternoon tea to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary the previous day. As we had left it so late, I worried whether we were going to get booked OK. But not to worry, the online booking was easy. The afternoon tea was excellent. Our waitress was Marianna, who was lovely and attentive. As with all good afternoon teas, we had a selection of teas to choose from. The sandwiches and cakes were fantastic. A box was supplied for us to take home the remains cakes that we couldn't finish. We had a lovely time celebrating our anniversary here. Thank you to all those involved.
Well where do I start! £30 each for a tea bag no loose tea as advertised The bread was stale on the sandwiches which I had to return. To be brought more out with the white bread still Hard and just thrown together with bits of crust still left on some slices but not others. No care or attention to detail taken at all. Now I’ve been to many afternoon teas but never been served shop brought cakes. We had a muffin you buy from Asda cut in half. Mini Victoria sandwich cake you buy from Asda as well which were not fresh and stale as well. Along side a slice of carrot cake cut into two. So where were the selection you advertise we were giving all sponges no tarts ext. The only thing that’s was nice were the scones. Disgusting to be charging so much for shop brought cakes and stale sandwiches and to be given all sponges no variety. I have also complained to the hotel and after 24 hours still not had a reply so says a lot about their customer service. Oh speaking about customer service we walked into the hotel to the main reception and waited there for over 10 min with no one about no bell to ring. We then walked and found our own way to the afternoon tea to find two staff standing in the hall way laughing terrible customer service…
Me and my husband had a lovely stay here for our first year anniversary this weekend , after getting married here in august 2021, Lucy Cunningham went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay, Lucy took the tome to talk to us and Lucy made our stay a memorable one, the food was amazing and the bar staff was incredible, I do have to give Lucy the biggest shout out as she was also amazing at our wedding last year we couldn’t have asked for anyone better , and was lovely to see a familiar friendly face , if ever you want an awesome stay here Lucy is your go to woman , I will be back again this is my happy place , thank you again for everything Lucy 😁 and all the staff at ansty hall xx
First weekend away stay for us for a long time. Good food and good service. Tom, in the bar, did a stallar job of dealing with a busy spell whilst staying professional and courteous. Areas of the hotel feel a little rundown and tired, but overall a lovely stay
The rooms were acceptably furnished. The breakfast food was just about edible but the quality of the provided wedding reception food was poor giving the impression that no-one should help themselves to reasonable portion for fear there would be nothing left for those behind them in line. There were too few staff on bar duty and the bar prices were high £14.00 for a Bacardi & coke, £10.50 for a glass of wine. Those on bar duty, Mollie and Tom should be rewarded for their excellent and attentive service in a situation of running out of ice and various soft drinks. These 2 worked flat out into the early hours. Just not enough staff or attention to quality of the food served.
I was very lucky to win Afternoon tea at the Macdonald Ansty Hall. Fantastic experience. The best Afternoon tea my wife and I have had. We booked to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary. The choice of tea was vast. Sandwiches were fresh and scones baked on site and still warm, fantastic. You need a good appetite to manage all the cakes. Our waitresses for the day were Betty and Jasmine they made our day even more special. 50 years next year watch this space.
Here on a short business trip but stay here regularly - Great food in the Shilton Restaurant - Molly was great waitress also. Very attentive and great recommendations. Would highly recommend! Great price also well worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lovely venue, very traditional and different. The food was all excellent and a great variety's. There was a large selection of unlimited teas and coffee included. Our waitress Marianna was friendly and helpful. Beautiful gardens.
