Booked this hotel for a event at the Coventry University, its just stone throw from the university and 5 min walk from the train station which worked well for me. The hotel is well managed as you could see that from the excellent service the team provide. My room was spotless clean. enjoyed the breakfast, its a buffet service you can eat as much as you like with variety of food..if you are looking for a place for the university events, this would be the best hotel i can recommend without hesitation. thank you ibis team (Reception and housekeeping) you guys rock...ohh at last i loved your green policy about hanging the used towel and non bleached bedsheets.
No issues at all. Every one of the staff I interacted with was very helpful and pleasant. Easy walking distance to the train station to get to the CBS Arena. Discounted car parking on site so it made my trip easy all round.
We are a bunch of girls traveled from Ireland for a City of culture event in Coventry. This hotel is amazing in every way. Our rooms were very clean, everything looks so fresh and new. The team at the hotel is like cherry on the cake. They never said no to all our odd requirements and they helped us every way possible from the check-in and checkout. We will recommend this hotel to anyone and all our families if they are traveling to Coventry. Thank you guys!!
A pity hotel not worth to consider for your trip! I booked a room for a business trip through our Egencia travel agency. Arriving the hotel at 9.00pm my room was resold although paid. The hotel relocated me in a poor low cost hotel outside the city with no possibility for a dinner and no breakfast. A great respect . A hôtel manager that should return to school to learn how to respect customer. The manager will surely justify by the fact the booking situation in the city was tightened due to a Congress but there were availability in other hotel more expensive They could have relocated me in such hotel but they didn’t do. Bad choice. What is done is done. My advises hit your way and chose an other hotel
Hotel design is nice. Car parking is available on site. Make sure you pay at the desk as it’s £5 where the pay and display outside it much more. Rooms were small but comfortable. TV channels didn’t work when we were there but we didn’t mention this as we only put it on as some background noise when packing to leave. Hot water when we checked in was great. Shower maybe too powerful when. However in the morning there was no hot water 8:30-9:00. It started to come back on at 9:15 so we could shower. Staff were friendly and helpful from reception to the cleaners. Almost seems like there’s too many staff though. When we arrived there were two greeters who asked if we were checking in and then directed us to the bar/reception which was literally 10 feet away. I am sure we could have found it without assistance. I would use this hotel again though. Corridors and public areas were clean. Breakfast was good. Bacon really nice, sausages tasted a bit odd but still edible.…
The hotel is in a good location- about ten minutes easy walk from the station, with no roads to cross and also about ten minutes walk from the city centre, again with no major roads to cross, due to underpasses. On check in, we had to ask for the drinks voucher, to which were were entitled. We were asked which floor we wanted and asked for the quietest. We were allocated a room on the second floor, which was mainly quiet, apart from some guests being very noisy late one night and others leaving noisily early one morning. This isn't the fault of the hotel, but maybe signs could be put up asking people to be quite during certain hours. On entering our room, we found it to be clean, but discovered there were no glasses ( not even single use plastic ones) and just two paper cups. As I had taken hot chocolate and wanted to drink water overnight, these were not adequate- cleaning such cups of hot chocolate to put water in isn't really possible. We also found that there was tea and sugar, but no coffee or sweeteners. We went to reception to ask for these and more cups. The man on reception was very helpful and gave us plenty of coffee, sweeteners and also milk. He also gave us proper cups ( which were washed ourselves and hid each day to make sure they weren't removed.) My husband had asked about the best time to go to breakfast, as the breakfast room was very small. We couldn't go as late as suggested, but found it wasn't busy when we did go. ( About 8.30 - 9.00 each day.) The buffet was not very impressive. There were some hot items and the bacon was very nice. There was cereal also bread, croissants and crumpets. Jam, honey etc were also available. The orange juice was in a small jug and frequently ran out. There were any three yogurts put out at a time. Most were natural. I think I spotted a strawberry one one day. There was ham, but of a much lower quality than in most Ibis hotels and the cheese was the plastic- packed sticks, which were very greasy- they didn't seem to have been refrigerated. The croissants, bread etc were not covered, which didn't seem very hygienic, but strangely, the sealed yogurt pots were. I was surprised to see a dog in the breakfast room and was not happy when, off its lead, it jumped up in the seat next to me and eyed up my bacon. It is very unusual to allow pets in an area where people are eating and this added to my feelings of a lack of hygiene. The room was generally adequate and the shower was lovely. The room was cleaned each day. On our last day, however, we returned to the room and I noticed that the paper cup I'd left by the bed had gone, so planned to go to ask at reception for another. Then I noticed that the small freezer bags I'd had on the bedside table had also gone. These contained my medication. We immediately went to reception and the housekeeper was summoned and she phoned the cleaner, who said she'd thrown away some empty bags. I don't know how she couldn't tell there were tablets in them, but, even so, they were my bags and I may have had a use for them, so they should not have been thrown away. We spent about twenty minutes with the housekeeper by the bins trying to find my medication, to no avail. Having seen underwear in some rubbish bags, I did wonder if guests had thrown these items away or if the cleaner had disposed of them. I had to manage without my essential tablets and it was fortunate it was our last night, or I don't know what I would have done. I was told the cleaner had been told to throw nothing away and that she would be retained. I hope she's told that if a guest hasn't thrown something away, they don't want it to be thrown away. I later discovered that my shower cap had also gone - not very helpful in a hotel which doesn't supply them. The reception staff were very sympathetic about my missing tablets, but obviously couldn't do anything about it. I'd stay in this hotel again, if I needed to be in the Coventry area, but I would hide everything I wanted to keep, just in case the same cleaner went into my room. I'd also hope no pampered pooches were there, as I prefer a more by l hygienic breakfast room. I'd also urge the manager to improve the breakfast. I often have fruit for breakfast, but only oranges were available. Get a few bananas or some of the frozen mixed berries that most Ibis hotels have.…
Lovely welcome from the very friendly and helpful staff. Reasonably secure parking for £5 per night. Small bar and cafe area serving drinks, breakfast and dinner. Comfy room with all basic requirements. Perfect location to explore the City on foot. 5-10 mins to the cathedral and restaurants. 20mins max to the transport museum and half hour to the music museum.
Nice comfortable room at a good price (esp for a Sat night). Spent a very relaxed night and morning with the 1200 checkout much appreciated. Staff friendly and helpful with a carpark on site for only £5 a night. The only negative was the TV on the room was not working.
