Stayed 2 nights. Very expensive. Rooms too warm with no working air conditioning - room was like a sauna. Found a pair of dirty underpants behind the bathroom door - staff obviously don't clean the rooms very thoroughly. And the towel holder fell off the bathroom door. Oh! And some staff member, a cleaner maybe, knocked on our door at 9.30am when checkout was at 11am. Terrible. Won't ever be back.
Stopped at this hotel on 21/22 June On 2nd night discovered that bar and restaurant staff automatically add 10% gratuity to all sales without informing you Even if you walk to the bar, purchase a pint, pay cash and carry it back yourself ! Raised issue with duty manager, all gratuities refunded and staff advised 20 minutes later tried same trick again On checkout, all refunded gratuities had been added to bill as ‘bar sales’ !!! Be warned
Disappointing as have had better experiences at other Ramadas. On arrival (Friday 17 June) at midday, I was greeted by a lovely receptionist who booked my bag (to early for check in), all good. On return back to the hotel later that afternoon, ready to check in, the chap greeted me, then proceeded to answer the phone to a customer, which took some time, while others where being served by the other receptionist and forgot to get my bag that I had stored there earlier. Once arrived to the 16 floor, with stunning view of the city, though a window that I don’t think had ever been cleaned (smiley, face drawn in the dirt), no dressing gown, or toiletries, a bed that moved forward every time you leant on the head board, air conditioning unit that took 30 mins to work out how it worked (on the hottest day of the year). After finding the instructions on a Chanel on the TV. Following the air conditioning unit being very loud and other noises from the bathroom. The very helpful (same person from earlier) receptionist came to inspect and suggested I moved to a different room. On review of the new room on floor 9, which was a lot bigger. The air con was as noisy and I did not feel comfortable on my own in such a big room. I therefore returned. There are 3 lifts with 2 for them, for the majority of my stay where out of order, so getting anywhere was very slow and patience was defiantly tried. I had booked breakfast for both mornings, the food, atmosphere and the very lovely and polite stuff could not be more accommodating. The Saturday evening owing such a busy day I asked for room service, very nice food (fish and chips) and quick service. However when asking any questions to the room service team, ie what was the special of the day (as advertised in the menu) this and another question could not be answered. The decor in the lobby and restaurant is lovely and the decor in the room is nice, basic, with a little more attention ( marks on the wall (by the door, spill mark on the wardrobe door) . The old storage heaters and the gaping wholes in the ceiling and the glasses left in hallway on the 16 floor, was not ideal. Plus when using the stairs to walk down (part way) could defiantly do with wiping down. I have stayed at Ramadas in other places in the world as both a solo and non solo traveller and this was certainly an experience that I had paid a lot for and not all in part value for money. If you are wanting central to Coventry, be prepared to walk (or Uber). Disappointing…
We had a really stressful drive from Devon to Coventry and we were visiting for radio ones big weekend and the minute we got to the hotel our stress was totally gone, the receptionist called for a taxi for us and checked us in whilst us being in such a panic. Later in once we got to our room it was so clean and had a great night sleep, I even slept in which I do not do! Went to breakfast and Trisha was just the best she was cheerful and sat us to our seats, gave us delicious coffee and couldn’t do enough for us. I specialise in the customer service industry and she is just top class! Please a special mention for Trisha.
Very nice hotel, good food quality, staff very helpful specially receptionist named helly and other staff as well Clean rooms, food price is very reasonable, and the main thing parking facility safe nd secure
Long time employee Patricia is simply the best and makes your day better from breakfast on. Always positive, smiling and happy to help. She’s been there since we’ve began coming to the Ramada and always makes our stay a positive one. Thank you Patricia from Team GB Ice Hockey
Loved everything about this hotel. Excellent prices. Generous rooms and very comfortable beds. Great breakfast which was all delicious. And very friendly staff who were all super helpful and polite! Big recommend if you’re staying in Coventry.
The whole stay was very pleasurable. Easy parking in the attached multi-storey car park, brilliant staff, service and rooms. The bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever found in a hotel. If I’m back in Coventry again I won’t stay anywhere else.
Room was clean and tidy, good value for the money. A good variety of TV channels and free WiFi, you can purchase films at £3.50 each but the selection could be bigger, and in this day and age I think £3.50 to watch a film is a but steep. Was surprise I had to pay for parking when I arrived at the hotel, a token should be given to guests for free parking. I could of driven straight out of the parking area as the barriers were not working, which the hotel knew about but still wanted me to pay the £6.50 for our overnight stay. Hotel reception, bar and restuarant was nice and modern but we only had one drink in the bar due to the prices, Pint of Heineken and half a coke was just under £8, so being just a 5 min walk into the town centre and 2 local pubs just a minutes walk away, we decided to eat out and drink out, saving ourselves a lot of cash. I'm happy to pay good money for good food, but the prices for food were just too high for a hotel restuarant, and nothing on the limited menu that my 13 year old daughter liked. This is a large hotel, so I think it would be good for management to extend there food menu for family's and at reasonable prices, even if it's just the bar menu. Opposite the hotel there are numerous outlets, restaurants, take away pizza, kebabs etc. Hotel is in a great locations. If you like playing pool, there is a Rielys pool bar 100yards from the hotel. Would I stay again? Yes I would, staff were friendly, hotel was clean, had a good night sleep, bed was comfy, shower worked fine, large TV, great location, local shops outside, walking distance into town, my only issue really, was that we had to pay for parking at the hotel, to stay at the hotel, I personally don't think that's ok.…
Well run hotel, receptionist very friendly, room nice and clean, bar staff cheery and helpful. Good breakfast after a good nights sleep. Well priced and 10 minutes walking distance from Coventry city centre. Well done Ramada 👍
