Absolutely superb , very welcoming and just added to what was a fabulous weekend , the beds were clean and comfy , the menu had a wide variety of choices and a great location . Parking was easy, safe and on site so no lugging cases . Enjoyable and already looking forward to our next trip back . Miss Gallagher

First the food: Imaginative menu in the restaurant, though it's not possible to have anything from the bar menu in the restaurant. Reasonable surroundings and friendly, attentive service. Can recommend scallops for starter, duck breast and steak for mains. All cooked to perfection snd beautifully presented. The only slight disappointment was the cheeseboard - I don't like cheese with herbs or... More

Be sure what you are visiting - then you will thoroughly enjoy your stay! This is no modern, large roomed designer hotel. It couldn't be in such a famous old village but come to enjoy an old inn, tastefully refurbished with character. The Old White Lion has been extended and enjoys a prominent position at the top of the village... More

Fab lunch. Lamb casserole, cheesy garlic bread and the best onion rings ever. Lovely and quiet when we visited but expect it is busy in the summer. Cannot recommend enough. Wish this was our regular as we would of make our way through the menu

On a trip to look up some people on branches of our family tree, we stopped in Haworth. The Old White Lion is directly opposite the church we wanted to visit, in the centre of the village. It's old fashioned in a good way, with lovely helpful staff, free wifi and parking. The bar serves a great local beer and... More

My wife and I stayed in a room with a fantastic view of the dale. The toilet was quite well-kept. The bed was comfy. The rooms were modern enough. The breakfast was very good, with fresh brewed Taylor's coffee and a warm breakfast.

Our second stay at the white lion in Haworth. Both times we've had no faults. All staff are lovely, friendly and welcoming. The hotel is immaculate and cute. The rooms are homely and if I could've packed my bed in my case I would of they are like sleeping on clouds. It's practically impossible to not have a view of... More

Arrived Sunday lunchtime for a two night stay. As soon as you enter there is dark wood, swirling deep red carpets, acid etched windows, and a fine Yorkshire welcome. Our room was small, but had a wonderful view over the valley. Great breakfast, but make sure you add some black pudding to your order! The added bonus of this hotel... More

A nice clean pub/restaurant/hotel at the top of the hill in Haworth. our room was clean comfortable and warm with a nice hot shower. Slept like a log on both nights so beds must have been comfortable or was it the ale! The restaurant menu looked great but we ate off the bar menu both nights and it was very... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The 300 year old facade of this former coaching inn hides the fact this family run hotel combines charming olde world features with thoroughly modern facilities. Situated at the top of the famous cobbled street, walked by the Revd. Patrick Bronte and his famous family. In more recent times as illustrated on TV in Hovis advertisements. This is very much an establishment where food and drink are taken seriously, and dispensed along with hospitality in good measure. Warmth, comfort and a relaxed atmosphere prevail throughout the 14 en-suite bedrooms, beamed bars, restaurant and oak paneled lounge.Freshly prepared food is provided by the highly qualified chefs. Keeping up with modern trends, without ignoring the popularity of old favourites. Featured in major food guides the Gimmerton restaurant is open every evening. An extensive range of reasonably priced bar meals being available in the cosy bars, where real ales are prominent. Exceptional value breaks available both mid-week as well as weekends throughout the year. ... more   less
