Ordered the steak and ale pie. This came as sections of a big pie heated up, with pastry 1cm thick and very hard - we could not eat it. The chip fat needed changing as the chips tasted odd. The veg was inedible. At the prices they charge for drinks and food, the standard was awful. No wonder the place...

Upon arrival at the Old Silent Inn we were shown to Room 11 which was totally unsuitable - no window just a small skylight - no wardrobe just a metal clothes rack, and grubby looking bed linen. My husband immediately decided that we would not be staying in that room. There were no other rooms available, so we had to...

We happened upon the Silent Inn and are glad we did. We stopped for lunch which was delicious. The blackened chicken pasta was full of flavour and the gammon, juicy and tasty. Service was a little slow but they were very busy and the food was worth the wait.

Stayed here for 3 nights in July when visiting family in nearby Halifax. We had our dog with us and were shown to our room at the back of the inn and this was fine. We were offered a room at the front with a better view but stayed where we were. The rooms appear adequate, clean and comfortable. What...

There was an unpleasant smell in our room during the 3 days we stayed there due to a leak behind the toilet where the carpet was wet and mouldy. There was also mould in the shower. When i spoke to the owner about this she was unpleasant and abusive ending with her telling me to get out and never come...

Stayed one night and have to say welcome and food were very good. However the room was really poor. Pretty worn furnishing and the bathroom was coated in mould with the paper coming off the wall. The only window was above head height and the room was very hot but we couldn't open the window as there was extraction for...

The only down side was the smaller menu than normal but the quality of food makes you forget that, rather have quality food over a bigger menu. Good price for the quality of food too an nice relaxed atmosphere around the place

We booked a room at the Old Silent Inn for a one night stay near Haworth. The location is fabulous, on a country road with breath-taking views. We were warmly received and shown to a charming room. The fireplace was a nice touch, though the bathroom was very cramped. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk to and from Haworth.
