BEWARE!! This hotel will refuse entry to a service dog. I contacted the property prior to booking to inform i would be staying and have a disability and would be bringing my trained service dog. I was informed this was ok. Upon check in, i was refused entry, my booking canceled. I am deaf and depend on my dog to complete day to day activities. They was 3 memebers of staff all trying to speak to me from different angles giving me different information and no care given or accommodations provided to assist. Completely unprofessional, discriminative andrude. Avoid at all costs.

We booked a room and paid via Booking.com but unfortunately due to family reasons we had to cancel the room with nine days notice. The intention was to rebook for a date in April but I was not happy to discover there were no refunds paid upon cancellation even though I appealed the decision.

I was expecting to uncover some treasures when arriving at the ‘Discovery Inn’ however continued to be surprised and delighted throughout my stay that this hotel REALLY lives up to its name. The first thing that caught my eye on the approach to my room was a doorway that blocked an abandoned staircase. How could I tell what was behind it you might be asking? Well true to its name, the Discovery Inn allowed me share in its mystery by erecting a standalone doorframe that hid its contents about as well as Simon Cowell hides his ageing. Regardless, it gave me a sense of adventure and curiosity which was an exciting start to my experience. When entering my room, the two beds gave me a choice of sleeping options: one had a long straggly hair in it, and the other had blood stains, as a long time fan of murder mystery I was in my element; Who was here? What happened? Which shall I choose? I punted for the hair bed and slept in my clothes which really helped add to the cozy vibe. The thick layers of dust on the lamps saved me the effort of having to turn on the lights (which I was grateful for after a long train journey) and I soon drifted off into a dreamless sleep; the floorboards creaking above the bed all night provided a soothing soundtrack to help me relax. The smell of someone smoking in the hallway was an innovative alarm call and I was delighted to find some fungal friends welcoming me to the bathroom; clinging to the mirror in their charming brown hue. My loneliness was further counteracted by the reassuring ‘clinging’ of the shower curtain which made me feel safe and served as a helpful distraction to the thrilling unpredictability of the water temperature. Finally, the hair in the shower was a nice touch and cracking souvenir that I took home with me as a memento of my stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone with a spare £240 looking for a memorable and unique experience.

Great place to spend the night in Leeds, specially if you go by train as the hotel is just opposite the main train station. Basic hotel, yeah, but comfy bed, clean bedroom and bathroom, very well centrally located. You can walk to all the arcades, Corn Exchange, markets, etc. It ticks all my boxes. For a small price, you can have a continental breakfast, although we opted to have a cooked one in a place nearby.

I stayed for a night in December in a single room (room only). I paid £62 via Expedia which was a decent rate and the location of the hotel was ideal (within 5 min walk of station). My room on the first floor was very basic but adequate and seemed clean enough which is important. The floor in the corridors smelt funny but thankfully this wasn’t the case in the room. Only downside was the noise from the bathroom throughout the night (gurgling noise) occasionally woke me up but thankfully I’d had a few beers so slept through most of it. If I was sober I’d probs have rang reception and changed rooms. Although extremely basic, I’d rebook the hotel if staying on my own providing I get a similar deal.

Stayed here for 1 night in December 4 friends all together whilst visiting the Christmas markets. It was great to find a place that sleeps 4 to a room as we like to stay in the same room when we come away together. Room was big with 1 double bed and 2 singles. Tea/coffee facilities in the room and plenty of plug sockets. Tv and hairdryer. Check in 2pm and check out 11am. Staff were all friendly and we requested extra pillows and they got them straight away for us. Really close to the train station literally a 2 minute walk. The only things that let it down was that the shower was quite cold as was the room it had 1 little radiator for quite a big room and outside of the hotel you here all the noise throughout the night and early morning. However I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on my next visit to Leeds

Whenever I book a "lower end" accommodation all I expect is cleanliness and comfort. This place ticked both of those boxes. Although they have no disabled rooms I was able to secure a room with walk in, but not step free, shower. Quite a bit of outside noise percolated through the windows from 0630 onwards. Basic tea and coffee, comfy bed, lots of storage for clothes. Couple of issues with broken plug sockets that require attention. Friendly staff. Recommended if you're just after somewhere to crash after whatever it is you've been doing.

I would not stay again, The room was small but adequate for a single room, Due to being an old building you heard people walking along the corridor from one end to other, and as this was on the floor that people had to pass to use the additional lift it was a very busy corridor. It went quiet around 1am and started again around 5am . The window was frosted out so you could not see outside, you could only open the window 3 inches and when you did all you could hear was the fans. If you closed the window the room became too hot to sleep in. Made me feel very claustrophobic. If you tried to sit up in bed the bed actually moved away from the wall as it was on wheels, The TV was useless. I could not watch any station for more than 3 minutes without losing signal. The only plug that worked next to bed was the one the bedside light was plugged into. So I had to make a choice: plug the phone in across the room or pull out the plug for the light and use that (despite being a double socket the one next to the light socket you could not use). The shower was a fixed head so when showering you had no choice but to get your hair wet, which then brought a further issue to light. No plug next to a mirror as a woman with long hair it was totally impractical to dry my hair 6ft away from a mirror . I would say you get what you pay for , but for the price I paid it was definitely not budget, I would expect to get a good night sleep and have items in the room that work as they should.
