I went last night with a friend and had a lovely stay. The room was large super clean and comfortable. There were nice details ie homemade cookies, fudge and a free glass of wine. The bed was comfortable and had quality bedding. The shower was brilliant too. Reception was efficient and friendly and the hotel is close to the centre....

Small hotel with interesting design. staff friendly though they were unable to Allocate a room away from the street noise , this was a prime request and street noise did not stop until 3am. Corridor carpets worn, fire exits not obvious cleaners cupboards doors left open despite signs saying fire door keep shut. Bedroom windows dirty as were the frames.washbasin would...

I stayed here last week for the first time in over 10 years, having used the Malmaison in preference and this stay reminded me why. The rooms are cramped, cold and a little tired looking (ripped curtains, frayed carpets). The water in the shower was cold and the unhelpful receptionist advised me to run it for 10 minutes (I already...

Thank you for contacting me via Tripadvisor. I was concerned to read your comments especially having remembered us from your stay 10 years ago. An error was detected with the boiler which did affect the temperature; this has now been rectified so please accept my apologies for this. I am sorry there seemed to be a discrepancy on your bill...

Stayed here this weekend - best receptionist on the planet, nice touch with a welcome drink of wine and room well appointed but I paid for a deluxe room and it was very small. That said, it ticked every box, love the Calls area of Leeds and will return again and again.

Thank you for posting your review. It was lovely to read your receptionist comment and you have caused quite a stir in the office between the receptionists as to who the 'best receptionist on the planet' mention is about, but of course I am biased and think they are all the best. I am pleased we ticked all the boxes...

I'd wanted to stay at 42 The Calls for years, and the chance had never come up. it was one of the original boutique hotels, and now looks a little tired, if I'm honest. A good price for a Friday night stay, but the bathroom smelled rather drain-y and the shower was worse than most Travelodges. Not great, really.

Thank you for your review. Despite finding you had a good price for your Friday night stay I was concerned regarding your other comments. I am unsure where the drain smell was coming from but had you mentioned this at the time the team would have been able to investigate this for you. All our rooms are different in style...

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here after finding a great deal on lastminute.com but would not hesitate to pay much more than we did! The location is second to none nestled deep in Leeds' fashionable Calls area. The room we stayed in was a Directors king room and was large with a big, VERY comfy bed. All the usual amenities...

Thank you for your 5/5 review. We all feel very lucky to work in a building that has so much character and history which I am glad you were able to appreciate. We have recently changed to the White Company toiletries, which I have to say smell amazing. Our Director rooms are very spacious with all but one overlook the...

Loved this funky hotel. Everything was fresh and clean. Lovely decor, really quirky - loved the little personal touches like the little frog soaps and the smarties on the bed when they did the turn down. Bed was lovely and comfy and huge which is always a plus. Breaksfast was a little on the expensive side at 13.00 for a...

As usual, 42 The Calls did not let us down. A rare night away from the kids was spent in a lovely comfy room with a great view of the river. Staff are fantastic. So friendly and welcoming. It was pouring with rain when I arrived, but after a friendly chat with the receptionist I was quickly on my way...

Really enjoy staying at 42 The Calls;- they are dog-friendly, very welcoming. We had a corner room overlooking the canal - very comfortable bed and in the morning had a great cooked breakfast. Wow.. what a find. For the price of a generic chain hotel I had 4 nights of luxury! From the moment you step up outside your surrounded by style and that "special" service you sadly rarely find in the other big hotels. Many thanks to Angela for making our stay simple to arrange! We will be back to you again.
