This review is overdue. For Christmas 3 of us decided that we would eat out for both Christmas Day and Boxing Day lunches. We reviewed a number of restaurants and hotels and finally selected the Rose and Crown. And what a great choice it turned out to be, great food, great service, great days! On Christmas Day there was some...

Room allocated was neither in the original building nor the extension, but somewhere in between facing the car park. Bathroom hot taps took several minutes to go from cold to lukewarm to hot. Room was spacious, nothing spectacular, but far enough away from the noise of the riverside building works. TV was small. Wifi erratic. Continental breakfast was adequate but...

I have stayed in many hotels and found this one almost at the top of the list. They have in my opinion the friendliest staff and the most helpful staff I have come across. The rooms were clean and of a reasonable size. The food was very nice and a good choice. The other thing in its favour is a...

Really quirky hotel with lots of original features still apparent, and new add-ons. Bedroom was very comfortable and spacious. Very friendly and efficient staff. Good food, so overall the hotel offered very good value.

The room we stayed in was in bad need of renovation, the bathroom especially, which looks like it has been tiled by a 4 year old and then never cleaned. Black mould is evident in many places including the grout lines of the tiles and around the window which has clearly been left open to hide the strong smell of...

Stayed here a little while back, the room was really nice and the Staff were friendly! Need a little more attention to the little things, such as possibly showing guests to their rooms, but all in all was a really great hotel and with a beautiful view of the cathedral, will be back soon!

My partner were having a few days in Salisbury to explore the surrounding area. It couldn't be any better for location, short distance to visit Salisbury cathedral & the town centre. The location is close enough to Bath, The Cotswolds and New Forest to name a few. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive and made our stay pleasant, comfortable and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The 4* Legacy Rose & Crown Hotel is an original 13th Century coaching inn located in the City of Salisbury with stunning views across the River Avon & Salisbury Cathedral. There are many original features lovingly retained. The original section of the building still boast its wooden beams through-out and our Oak Bar also enjoys the log fire that is lit in our winter months. A selection of Feature and River View Rooms are available along with our original beamed rooms, please ask our reservation or reception teams for details & availability. Our Pavilion Restaurant where the hotel serves Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner to residents and non-residents offers picturesque views of Salisbury Cathedral and the River Avon combined with ‘Sheep in the meadows’ by constable. Our modern Avon Bar which has kept its original beams and other features is the perfect place for meeting friends.
