I have used this Hotel many times for members of my sales team and also overseas visitors who wish to stay locally at a reasonable price! No, its not the Berested or Penny hill park .... but neither are the prices!! This was very popular with my team as they felt "at home" in the rooms and with the staff....

A period property about to come under the bulldozer, the manager was polite, worked in reception, did breakfast by himself the following morning, was polite and welcoming, and the room and bathroom were clean but the feeling that this is a business about to close in a couple of weeks seemed to permeate the building. The bed was very spongy,...

The Brockenhurst must have been a charming hotel in its heyday (the 1970s?). It now needs major refurbishment, as it is looking very tired. The shower was very feeble and when my husband opted for a bath instead, it took about 15 minutes to fill. The wifi worked on arrival - mid-afternoon - but was not working either late at...

We recently spent three nights at this hotel. It is a period property with bags of charm and quirkiness. The quest lounge and bar areas were very comfortable with daily newspapers provided. The dining room is pretty and the continental breakfast was more than adequate with a wide range of cereals, yogurts etc. whilst the bedrooms were dated it suited...

1. Realised one of the twin beds I was sleeping in was stained with stale , possibly elderly urine from the pungent smell . No mistake 2. Shower did not work . No intention of making bodily contact with bath 3. Noisey 4. Terrible customer service 5. Exactly like " hotel Bella " from famous only fools and horses episode....

We agree with a previous post that Brokenhurst would be more appropriate. Area is great, but we should have headed for the hills as soon as we saw the steps to the entrance, littered with cigarette butts. Inside the reception area was gloomy and depressing. The room ( room 7 ) had peeling wallpaper, broken shelves in wardrobe, grubby douvet...

Staying in Ascot you expect a degree of " up market ", especially at the prices they charge for bed n breakfast!! Not here. We were put in rooms 7 and 9, the way we were informed made it sound special but what we got were tired rooms in the attic, wallpaper peeling from the walls, stains on the quilts,...

Stayed in this hotel as only a mile to the race course.....Great location. Hotel is rather tired and old fashioned but has spacious rooms that are ok. Shower was weak but overall the place was very clean. Obviously seen better days! Beds fine but pillows have certainly lost their bounce. Could be fabulous but regrettably the beautiful building is going...

Stayed there overnight when viiting the golf. It is a quaint old hotel, well laid out, what you would expect from an old building that has not been updated. It is in need of a freshen up, e.g. sealant around bath and decorting,. But nice friendly staff, decent bar with OK bar meals, good night's sleep. Tv takes a bit...
