This “boutique hotel” is well situated. But let’s get this straight it is not a hotel but rooms over a pub and given the price, we expected better. The television was wifi and on the pub network so didn’t work. Staff were great, the owner less than helpful with any of the issues. No fan in the bath so the whole room steamed up. The website write up is overblown and exaggerated. Let’s just say we won’t be back even though the staff were lovely. Not worth half the price.

Oh dear, so disappointing. Have been before but won’t be going back. Cocktails expensive with minimal alcohol content in very small glasses. Most of the ingredients were not even in stock! Very poor dinner service, staff seemed like they weren’t there! Couldn’t catch any attention at all from the staff. Not very friendly or helpful. Won’t be recommending to friends I’m afraid. Limited food menu and expensive all round. Shame . Pretty venue but that’s all .

We have literally just got home from The Eton Mess and we have had an amazing meal. It was the best Sunday lunch I have had in a restaurant, the taste, quality and quantities were spot on. Lovely staff just added to the experience, we will definitely be back. Thank you very much.

Accidental find, and very happy. A lovely patio on the back, and Chris served us an incredible Sunday Roast. Make sure you also get the field mushrooms on the side. Definitely worth exploring from the crowded Windsor scene. We will be back!!

I stayed here previously in October 2021 and as an American, I returned to the UK to pay my respects for the Queen's funeral, I had no hesitation about rebooking here.. Room 4 this time, It was well up to standard and spotlessly clean. The full English breakfast was filling and delicious. The bar service was quick and efficient and special mentions for Jon Hilton, the manager, who was warm and friendly. I will certainly book in again on the next visit.

Seven of us went there for Father’s Day and had a fabulous time. The food, atmosphere and service were super. I plan to go there again definitely. They were busy, but that did not affect the speed of food or service . Was reasonably priced. Was not noisy and had a cute garden in the back .

For me service was good I had no problem apart from watching how the staff speak to customers. An issue occurred where the staff spilt a drink on this lady and the cup broke on her. Instead of apologising the staff argued back and the other staff did not intervene to divert the situation. It did put me off and I definitely will not be returning.

First impression is lovely, with an attractive bar/restaurant as you enter. Check in was a tad slow and unorganised. However the hall, stairs and landings to the rooms are in need of refurbishment, the carpet is very tatty and worn, especially on the stairs - which desperately needs replacing. We had Room 5, a terrace room. Upon entering it was pitch dark because the blinds and curtains were closed, I appreciate that this may have been to keep the room cool, but it was 3pm on a sunny day and it would have shown a lot better with them open. The door to the terrace is strangely a solid wooden door, a glazed door, so that you could see the terrace would be a lot more attractive, as it is it resembles a fire escape door. The terrace is a lovely addition to the room though, and a good size, we enjoyed having our complimentary drink out there in the sun. The biggest let down though was the housekeeping, or lack of it: In the bathroom: Two of the three little bottles of complimentary toiletries had been used, the shampoo only had 1/3 left in it and had a hair on the bottle, and the body lotion had been used. Surely it’s standard practice to replace with new bottles or clean and refill if they have been used. There were also quite a few hairs on the bathroom floor, especially between the toilet and vanity. These weren’t ours as we are both blonde and they were long dark hairs (same as stuck to the shampoo bottle). There also weren’t enough towels, only two small baths towels were supplied, no hand towels. Tea/Coffee Facilities: There was only one nespresso capsule in the capsule drawer so we had to pop downstairs to ask for more, we didn’t notice until the morning that there also wasn’t any milk, so had to go downstairs to get that as well, then when making our coffees we noticed that there weren’t any spoons either! So basically the tea/coffee station hadn’t been checked and restocked, as with the bathroom toiletries. To add insult to injury, on the morning of check out (which is 11am) the housekeeper was knocking on our door at 10.40am! Housekeeping really need additional training. The location is great though, close to the bridge so a very nice & easy walk over to Windsor, and close to car parks, as it was a weekday we had no problem parking. Can’t comment on breakfast as we didn’t go down for it, served until 9.30am (which is a bit early to finish). Also, I can’t comment on noise as we stayed on a Monday night and they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays so we didn’t experience any noise. There wasn’t anyone around when we were checking out and I needed a copy of the bill, I messaged that evening, two days later still hadn’t received it so emailed and messaged through their website but have still not received it. Five days later and 3 messages later and I have still not received a copy. I have emailed hotels lots of times after checking out and have never had an issue getting a copy of the invoice emailed to me after check out. If the cleanliness and housekeeping issues were rectified I would however consider staying again. Pros Nice terrace Good location Cons Housekeeping needs improvement Communal areas need new carpet and redecorating

We stayed at The Eton Mess bank holiday weekend. There were no functions on at the time so cannot comment on noise and disturbance. In fact we found the room quiet and comfortable. Had pre booked for Sunday Dinner and was not disappointed. It was excellent! Cooked to perfection, plenty of roast beef plus all the trimmings and such tasty gravy. We live an hours drive away but wouldn’t hesitate to drive that far, for this roast dinner. Seated next to a regular Sunday diner who’s company also added to the experience. Both evenings I had a cocktail in the bar, this was made with love and affection. Beautiful to look at and very enjoyable. Front of house even made one for me and delivered it to the room! We hope to return soon!

RAW CHICKEN. Ordered via Deliveroo - partner company Flip The Bird, which is cooked out of Eton Mess’ kitchen. Burger was raw in the middle, and rest of the food was cold. Called Eton Mess and they were absolutely 0 help. The staff member was extremely rude and no help whatsoever. DO NOT ORDER. No offer of refund or any compensation, just told to contact Deliveroo repeatedly. I will go be going down the restaurant in person tomorrow to speak to the manager, as his food and staff are a joke.
