Having been for dinner several times which has been utterly fantastic I thought we would go and stay for the weekend. My partner was disappointed with many things. Sadly this will be our last visit for a while.
Nice room with very modern bathroom ( which needs a few grab bars for safety) with frequent but unobtrusive housekeeping. The best part was our meals in the garden and walks through the extensive grounds and surrounding countryside. The food was very good and the service on the whole excellent.
Standards have definitely dropped since my last visit to this hotel. You expect first class service when you are paying their kind of prices. It is mainly due to poor Management and training. Very sad
England and the Cotswolds have numerous historic country manors that provide great esperiences, but I believe thiss is the best. Partly the property itself with its extensive gardens and grounds. Part the direct access to public pathways that most easily access Broadway and Stanton, so no need for a car. But also the excellent bar, gourmet food and excellent and proper service that is extremely friendly.
We have stayed many times even last November which was perfect but has this Hotel become disappointing staff has changed gardens need attention and as we pre booked in April we have never had such a small room which housekeeping need to look at dust on many surfaces friends who have also stayed before surprised us not a good evening the menu was very disappointing our lamb was tough the lobster starter was minute if there’s been a change in chef you should look again in all the years we have been staying we have never had such a disappointing visit afraid we will not return as we have had an excellent stay since in Broadway so look up Buckland
When deciding on a place to stay in the Cotswolds, I looked no further than Buckland Manor - it was just as I had remembered - magical - no matter how beautiful a place is, and Buckland Manor is breathtaking, its the staff that make a stay memorable and mine was truly a delight - Claire, the charming and delightful receptionist, to Jacob our young waiter who looked after us so well, when dinning outside, which was all the time , to Tom, Buckland Manor’s passionate gardener, who kindly showed us around the gardens - it is a stay I shall remember for a long time - thank you for making our stay with you so memorable - cannot wait to return.
Such a wonderful experience staying here . Everything was amazing. Bedroom was so comfortable .Everything that we needed was provided from L'Occitane products, Dyson hairdryer and other little touches such as fruit, fresh milk ,biscuits and even a sweet jar ! The ambience of the whole place was wonderful . Very cosy lounges and the restaurant was beautifully organised with starched white tablecloths and serviettes . Staff were so attentive and the restaurant served up the most tasty and delicious food that we have ever had . All of the staff were so friendly and made us feel so special. A beautiful location too nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds and so close to other interesting places. An afternoon tea in the garden was just superb . A wonderful experience .
Our stay at the Buckland Manor was so magical! We felt completely spoiled from morning to evening. It was an incredible experience, from the beautiful grounds, to the impeccable service and amazing food. We were traveling with three teenagers and they all enjoyed the down time and the countryside. We will cherish our time there and cannot wait to return!
I stayed here 7 years ago, and it was wonderful. On this re-visit, it was disappointing. It is a beautiful country hotel in a sublime setting standing on sizeable acreage. But the service has fallen off: no one greeted us when we arrived to help with our luggage; the check in clerk was functional but not the higher level of service one expects for the price you are paying; and our room, though large and comfortable, turned out to be noisy above the kitchen. The bathroom floor was filthy from use and should have been replaced. I complained to the desk clerk about the noisy kitchen staff till 11 PM, and she said she would speak with them. But that night we heard singing and yelling permeating through the floor, and we felt that they were doing it intentionally since we had complained the night before. And where was the hotel manager? Never to be seen or heard from.…
Visiting England and this region in particular you would expect to lodge in a classic Cotswolds house with centuries behind it but also with all the luxuries and amenities our modern life brings us. This is what you get at Buckland Manor. A house several times enlarged and refurbished; started in the 14th century, it is quintessential British. We had a Master room, huge in size with an average sized pretty bathroom and great views. Good linens, very comfortable king bed and vintage/antic furniture. Food is very good although if you stay for many nights somehow limited in choices due to no change of the menu. Staff is very kind and well trained. Very good location as a starting point to visit the Cotswolds villages, gardens and country houses/castles of the area. If you plan to visit during peak summer try to book a room that does not face the afternoon sun ( there is no AC).…
