The Hotel is situated on the High Street in Broadway. A great place to base yourself for touring the Cotswolds. The room we were allocated was in the old part of the hotel, and I think you have to accept that in a building this old you will get squeaky floor boards and drafts. The particular week we were guests...

Thank you for your review following your stay here in Broadway, as you say our location in the High street is a great base from which to explore the Cotswolds. We are very sorry that your bathroom was chilly following the recent very cold snap. I am pleased though that you enjoyed your food while here and I will share...

The first thing you will notice when walking in the restaurant is that you're stepping back in history, great surroundings. Excellent service and well trained staff make you feel at ease. The tables are well spaced apart so you don't feel crowded. While the menu is limited the food was lovely. Beef was rare as it should be and the...

Thank you so much for your review following your Sunday lunch. As you noted this hotel has real history with some parts going back 600 years. I'm glad the food was up to date and delicious and in your words 'the beef was rare as it should be'. We look forward to seeing you here again soon. Our teams will...

We visited the Lygon Arms in Broadway, in the Cotswolds on the spur of the moment - booking a few days ahead of our visit. The weather was awful, dull, grey and wet but the Lygon Arms is a beautiful old hotel built in the 16th century from beautiful warm mustard coloured stone. There were wood fires burning throughout the...

I had wanted to stay for a while, as I understood dogs were made very welcome, which they definitely were - a beautiful dog bed, bowls and a chew! The public areas are nicely decorated with lots of little intimate spaces for drinks - the cream tea was excellent. We had booked a Splendid King on a special January offer...

Beautiful old hotel oozing charm without the stiffness of some hotels. Lots of cosy corners with fires where you can comfortably sit enjoying a nice glass of wine. All the staff we encountered we very helpful and friendly. Perfectly located in the centre of Broadway which is surrounded by lots of interesting shops galleries and eateries.

We booked The Lygon Arms to celebrate my partners birthday. I decided she would love a spa break at a luxurious hotel, after researching I found The Lygon Arms and promptly booked a Splendid King room for 2 nights as we planned to make full use of it's spa and treatments. The plus points: The hotel itself is very impressive...

As a 'local' the Lygon Arms has been a place to be avoided for many years. Invited there recently for dinner as guests, we now can't wait for the 'hinted at' refurbishments to take place - particularly in the very tired dining hall, as the food and service ( to our surprise and delight) were excellent and we would, therefore,...

Fantastically located in a picture box Cotswold village. We had seen this on previous visits to the area and have had it on the radar to try at some point. An offer came up and so we booked a pre-Christmas dinner bed & breakfast. The exterior and entrance is full of old world charm & quirkiness. We had one of...

The antithesis of a modern hotel, please expect squeaky floorboards, actual metal keys and no doorbells. The rooms are small and cozy. Breakfast is served in a spacious hall on the ground floor. Service is quite good for a village establishment. Parking is some distance away - at an open air lot across a public lane at the back of...

Stayed here for a weekend, was quite expensive but was a special occasion. If you like character and history this is the hotel for you. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Imagine a hotel where roaring log-burning open fireplaces hint at its roots dating from the 1300's. Picture a Great Hall Restaurant with a vaulted ceiling and original wood panelling built in the seventeenth century. Visit a hotel that has been coloured by the characters of history. At The Lygon Arms, with its 78 rooms you can stay in the suite that King Charles I once stayed in the night before the Battles of Worcester in 1651. See the carvings of John Travis' name on the arch of the front door, etched into the hotel's history in 1620. An historic hotel in the heart of Broadway with a typically Cotswolds history. Dine in The Great Hall, Barringtons our typical all day dining brasserie or have lunch, a coffee or a Cotswold Gin and Tonic in one of our many lounges. A spa , swimming pool and The Lygon Gardens await you but most importantly the team look forward to welcoming you. . ... more   less
