my husband and I just spent a night at this hotel using a Xmas gift from our son and daughter-in-law.I looked it up on-line and it looked splendid..A beautiful old country house with lots of character. We roamed around the house admiring the wooden staircase and carved fireplaces. Our room was very spacious and considering it was a standard room was...

We had Room 1 on the first floor which was extremely spacious and the en-suite had a bath Hurrah! After a long welcome soak we enjoyed cocktails in the bar and then an excellent three course meal with wine in the atmospheric dining room. Staff were so very helpful and happy to answer and questions.

We booked a Travelzoo break just for a getaway to be near family for a short stay. The hotel is in a very quiet location, set back from the village with beautiful grounds including a lake with ducks and black swans! The Receptionist was very polite and helpful on arrival. Our room (number 21) was a bit small but clean...

We made use of a buy a gift voucher for a 2 night stay here. Absolutely beautiful grounds, and property, with very comfortable room. Breakfast was lovely too. Only minor problem was that when windy (which it was this weekend!) it made the windows of our room rattle, which was a little offputting for sleep.

Although the room we stayed in was of a decent size and clean enough, it was quite cold at times even with the radiator turned up. If you are thinking of staying here on cooler days, make sure you pack a dressing gown and toiletries such as hand cream and body lotion because you will only find a small tablet...

Another great find on our 6 week UK road trip. Just lucky to find late afternoon. The other bonus was the special price, probably one of our cheapest nights. Just an old world charmer, you can imagine Miss Marple staying here. Hotel was quite so had dinner in the bar area, great breakfast. Grounds and surrounding area is just how...

We stayed for two nights on a Travelzoo offer having been attracted by the imposing hotel exterior and grounds. We felt that the hotel interior appears tired and dated in certain areas and some of the furniture in the room was faded with some wallpaper edges near the window starting to lift. The room carpet was stained and in the...
