Stayed in the building next to the main pub building. It was very basic and had a big wet patch on the carpet where you entered the bathroom. The light sensor in the hall was making the lights go on and off every 8 seconds so it was difficult to sleep with light coming under the big gap under the door. Bathroom door poorly fitted so you could see through gap into the bathroom. Busy road and traffic. There were people in the room above and you could hear them talking and walking when they arrived back at 1am. However, the staff member who gave us the keys was lovely but it was not a very enjoyable stay and I wouldn't go back in a hurry.

Have just tried the excellant new carvery. What a pleasent surprise. The pub has been tastefully decorated, making it feel warm and welcoming. The new owners and staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was very well prepared and served piping hot. There was a good selecton of meat and plenty of vegetables to chose from. Will most definitely be returning soon.

Spent a very pleasant 2 nights at The Defford Arms. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast and evening meal was delicious. Very high standard. The bar was also a delight as had about 6 pumps of real ale and a few different lagers. We stayed in 'The Hayloft' room which was clean and comfy. If you want to stay in that area we would definitely recommend The Defford Arms.

Pleasant family run pub with added extras .Stayed in their static caravan because they were full. Lovely and clean, milk in the fridge tea and coffee and shortbread biscuits, bottled mineral water all waiting for us. Excellent facilities BIG breakfast nice people, would recommend and will be staying again when in the district .

We stayed overnight at the Defford Arms arranged at the very last minute as our intended booking had gone wrong. We received a fantastically warm welcome, we were given an attractive and spacious room with a well-equipped and large wet room. Lots of lovely touches...large bottles of spring water provided for free with beautiful drinking glasses. Large mugs for an abundance of hot drinks choices and handfuls of biscuits. The pillows were plump and plentiful, the beds large and comfortable and everywhere was spotless. Our breakfast order was taken on Saturday evening and prepared to our liking and our time request on Sunday morning. The owners heard my husband mention I was gluten intolerant and so the owners went out of their way to offer me gluten free options...how lovely. Thank you very much for having us.
