Decided to stay here to enjoy the facilites with my wife however I feel the standards have dropped since we were last here a couple of years ago. Firstly, the price to stay here has almost trippled In price. I understand prices have to increase due to the current climate but this seems excessive. On arrival we had to pay a £50 pre-authorisation, which we did not feel was nesscary. When we arrived to our room, there was no robes or slippers to use in the spa. When we asked for these at reception we were told they had no slippers left, which for a spa unusual? Therefore we had to walk around the hotel bare footed.. not sure what would have happend if we stepped on something sharp? We got the feeling some things were not seemelss in the room for example, there was no malvern water in the room, which they advertise, instead we had an alternative brand. The bathroom had elemis shampoo but the conditioner and body was another brand? And the TV in our room was Tiny, we could barley see TV when it was on! However, we enjoyed the spa facilites in the evening, especially the outdoor pool. Breakfast was enjoyable, but again there seems to be some disconnect. Half of it was self service and the other was table service. Food took around 30minutes to come out, which felt like a very long time. Unsure about the luke warm beans in the ramekins...? One final note to add, I was not best pleased to be presented with an £8 service charge when checking out... I have no idea where they get £8 from however during our stay the only interaction with staff was collecting our robes they forgot to put in our room and taking our order at breakfast. If we felt the service was exceptional, we would have tipped at the time. I asked for the charge to be removed, which they did no questions asked, however after paying a fair whack for the room, we did not appreciate this being added on. Sadly, a dispointing end to our night away and reaffirmed our decision not to return. Fingers crossed the preauthoristion will be credited back to my card shortly..

Hello Ashley Thank you for sharing your feedback. I am disappointed to note you feel standards have dropped since your last visit and that you will not be looking to return to The Malvern again. In line with most hotels, card details are taken at check in, to hold in case of any extras taken during your stay. This is released upon check- out but some Banks can take longer than others to process this. Usually, the towels, robes and slippers are in your room for arrival. I am sorry this was not the case and that you had to ask for them. Unfortunately, we have experienced a delay with the delivery of slippers and this is why we could not provide any on your visit. I appreciate the inconvenience caused due this. Again, in line with most of the hospitality industry, we have experienced delays with deliveries which has meant we have had to utilise different stock at times. Breakfast is designed to offer variety and suit the individual. By offering the continental option as a buffet allows guests to choose what they would like. You can also then have the option of a cooked to order hot breakfast. I apologise that you experienced a delay in service. The optional service charge of £8 is added onto all bills, with the option to remove this without question, as you experienced. Any service charges are split across all staff from housekeeping, through to the kitchen team, to ensure everyone that may has assisted during your visit is recognised. It is a shame that these issues have led to your decision not to return but I do appreciate you taking the time to bring them to my attention. Yvette Dine, Front of House Manager

The lovely warm pool and especially the outside bubbly parts were excellent. Long opening hours. You can get drinks by the pool , newspapers provided. All the staff we dealt with were very friendly especially the ones doing our treatments, Lena, Lisa and Erica. The facial combo massage was very relaxing. The room and bed was very comfortable and we could see the hills from our room. Sep are review sent for restaurant.

We were very glad to be at a different Malvern Spa hotel to the one described by some of the one star reviewers below. Or at least we must have been given how marvellous the whole experience was. I suppose some people find one thing wrong and then look for other things to moan about. Well, that's up to them. We really enjoyed it. Our room was spotless. It was warm and welcoming and the view of the half-built Aldi across the way is only a distraction if you want it to be. The construction work carries on during the day and you don't notice it. You know the hotel is close to an industrial estate when you book. And? So what? It makes no difference to the experience. I'd never had a massage or pedicure and both were great. The staff - all of them - are so well-trained it's a treat to be there. We found the food and wine to be very good. No complaints about the quality, service or price. All good. We didn't find the hotel tired. Yes, some seat covers have seen better days but they were all clean. I'm sure if we'd had a complaint about anything it would have been sorted. Very, very good break.

From the photos and the reviews I read I was really looking forward to our stay. We booked the one night stay with breakfast. The hotel is very 'rough round the edges'. The rooms and corridors could door with licks of paint and touching up. There were chunks missing out of the carpets and the bathroom showed signs of mould and limescale. The spa experience was pleasant enough. The pool was lovely and warm. The robes and slippers were a really lovely touch and the robes felt very luxurious. The staff around the pool were lovely. The steam room was a little disappointing and felt we could not stay in there long due to the smell (think sweaty feet) We decided to dine at the hotel for dinner during our stay. The meals we chose were very nice but the menu offer is limited and I was a bit put out to have been charged £3.50 for a bottle of water. I had assumed the table water would have been complimentary. On checkout an £8 service charge was also added onto our bill which again I was a but pit out about as its always nice to decide if you feel a service charge is appropriate. There is the option to remove the charge but it makes the experience very awkward. Sadly I would not choose to stay here again, it was a lovely gift and a convenient stop off to our destination in Wales.

Hello Emma Louise Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am sorry you felt the hotel was 'rough around the edges'. We constantly undertake a maintenance programme to try and minimise the amount of repairs required. However, as the hotel and spa are in constant use, some wear and tear is inevitable. It is a shame you felt the restaurant menu to be limited as we do try and offer a variety of food to suit all tastes. The service charge is optional and this is stated on the bill and advised verbally at checkout. We would never expect anyone to pay this if they feel they did not receive great customer service. It is a shame that you will not choose to stay again but thank you again for sharing your concerns. Yvette Dine, Front of House Manager

We stayed for 1 night, dinner , bed & breakfast and a treatment. I would highly recommend Malvern Spa. We had an amazing time, not one bad thing to say. The hydrotherapy pool is amazing, so warm. We had afternoon tea for lunch, evening meal and room service for breakfast and all was delicious. We had an Indian head massage and was so relaxing. All the staff are so helpful and friendly, specially Lauren who checked us in but all staff were amazing I just cant remember their names. Will definitely be returning.

My friend and I stayed for two nights during a very hot spell. We were originally booked in for one night but the allure of air conditioning and an outdoor pool was too tempting! Good points: Nice spa, great to spend time on the outdoor loungers - it was like being abroad in the hot weather! Staff handed out sun cream and fruit periodically which was much appreciated. Staff also worked tirelessly to ensure guests had sun beds, moving them around and ensuring everyone’s comfort in the heat. We particularly liked Katie-Mae who was so professional and hardworking but also friendly and chatty. Negatives: The toilets next to the restaurant had no paper towels for drying hands during our entire stay - I raised this twice with a member of staff to no avail. Despite making a reservation for dinner, the hotel receptionist struggled to find it, eventually locating it on “a different system.” When we arrived for dinner however the staff once again denied knowledge of our booking! Luckily they found us a table but this needs sorting out. Dinner was tasty but somewhat overpriced I felt. We will no doubt return to The Malvern as it is conveniently located less than an hour from where we live and is a lovely calm and peaceful haven.

Helo there Thank you for sharing your recent experience at The Malvern. You had the most perfect weather when you stayed and it really does feel like you are away on holiday! I am sorry there were no paper towels during your visit. I know that we had experienced delays with our deliveries during that period and assure you that is not our usual level of service. It is a shame there was a mix up with your restaurant booking but I am pleased to note this was rectified straight away for you. We look forward to seeing you again soon- bring the weather back with you! Yvette Dine, Front of House Manager

We were here for a friend’s significant birthday lunch party, so we stayed two nights. The welcome was friendly, although we had already been asked to check in online, so it seemed like a bit of duplication. The room was comfortable, if a tad sparse. No complaints exactly, but only what you’d probably expect as a minimum. The complimentary bottled water was very welcome. The breakfasts were delicious. There was a choice between fruit and pastries or cooked items, and all were excellent. We had a full dinner one night and a lighter dinner on the second, as we had already eaten a wonderful birthday lunch. Choices for dinner were excellent. There were healthier choices, traditional choices and some more exotic ideas. Very much something for everyone. All of the restaurant staff (both breakfast and dinner) were very pleasant and helpful. Their service was delightful. Our waiting staff included Jamie, who did everything he could to make our dining experience excellent, including being patient when our guest was a few minutes late. Thank you to all of the team at The Malvern for making our stay so pleasurable.

Hi there Thank you for taking eth time to post your review. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay for the Birthday and that you particularly enjoyed the restaurant experience. The online check in was put in place during Covid to reduce the amount of contact involved. We have now removed this, as you say it was an unnecessary duplication. I hope you will come and see us again. Yvette Dine, Front of House Manager

Iv been here a few times now and always enjoyed the spa the perks are the treatments are always good and the outdoor hydro pool is lovely…so on that basis I thought I’d book for a mini moon for me and my new husband..we had a busy morning so hadn’t had chance to eat but thought we would get lunch there after our massage at 1.30 as we didn’t arrive to near 1pm..well after the massage we headed for food to be told we couldn’t have anything as they stopped food at 1.30pm would have been nice to have been told this when we checked in. The pool area was ok it was busy as in couples/groups in every part of the hydro pool and a person who clearly looked under 18 with bright pink goggles on slashing and swimming around like a child would in the pool, even some faces of other guests looked unimpressed as they was splashed in the face bit odd for a over 18s spa there is no way that person was 18 and certainly splashed around the pool like a minor to not very relaxing. My massage was very nice the staff where nice the treatment room I was in meant I could hear alot of the lunch noise whilst having my massage so again that’s not ideal hearing banging plates over spa music. It’s check in that did it for me the room my god drab doesn’t cover it it’s like a motel, it even felt grim the bathroom door looked filthy and black mould around the bath a dirty bath Matt we used a hand towel for a bath Matt in the end, the tv is tiny along with the bed, the walls are so thin my delight was to be awoken at 7.30am by the sound of someone else vomiting probably the disgusting dinner from last night it was so loud it was as if they was in my bathroom it wasn’t even masked by the noise of the people above crashing about, I would have rather stayed in the premier inn over the road their rooms are so much nicer cleaner fresher and more comfortable this isn’t a add but if you ever decided to book this hotel and you’ve stayed in a premier inn you will instantly understand why premier inn is there so the malvern guests can run from this hotel god knows I wish I did, Ok the room isn’t great the service hasn’t been the best but we have been up since 8am missed lunch are staving hungry it’s now 8.45pm, we order a starter and it’s was rubbish no flavour what so ever just tasteless rubbish our mains come and I didn’t think it could get any worse it was like eating at a 2 for 1 where it’s £6 a meal not a so called restaurant that by the way actually feels more like a canteen with low lighting, my food was ok it helped that I put a whole pot of bbq sauce on my chicken so that’s all I could taste really, my husband is the type to eat every last thing on everyone’s plate he doesn’t do food waste but his burger was so bad that he for the first time in the 16 years we have been together he couldn’t face eating any more it was like paper thin patty’s soooo dry and over cooked and the texture was like dog food he tried to cover it in sauce like I did but nothing was getting that burger down, we did of course say it wasn’t good at all so the manger came and said he would take the extra cost of the bill he couldn’t take the burger off as he had eaten a little more than half but of course he did we haven’t eaten in over 24 hours.. it’s not great with the worst food we have ever eaten, there are so many nicer hotel/spa places for the same money, no I haven’t emailed management what’s the point it was supposed to be a mini moon and our first night away without the kids in a long time and it was just so disappointing.

My daughter and i arrived at the spa during some the hottest days of the year but inside the atmosphere was cool and calm. All the staff without exception were helpful, friendly and efficient.Everywhere was beautifully clean, the massage was fabulous and cold drinks bought to the poolside on request. The Grovewood restaurant provided a well priced and tasty menu ,the young staff were friendly and helpful in equal measure. Our room provided wellcome air conditioning and a comfortable night sleep. It is fair to say that the spa would be better placed within Malvern itself ,but from poolside you can see the distant Malvern Hills and the welcome inside is close to perfect from all of the staff ,we will definitely be returning .

Hello there Thank you for sharing your feedback from your recent stay. It sounds like you and your daughter had a lovely time and enjoyed all aspects of our facilities. The hotel was built in this particular area as it is the site of an original Malvern spring water bore hole. Unfortunately over time, it has proven difficult to extract the water, but this gives you some history as to why we are not situated in the actual town of Great Malvern itself. I hope you will both visit us again soon. Yvette Dine, Front of House Manager
