Happy to recommend this restaurant - my parents, wife, daughter and I came here after a week's narrow boating and we were very pleased with our meals and the service we received. The menu was extensive, there were many affordable dishes and the ambience was excellent too. Friendly staff, good food, sensibly priced and central city location. Ticked all my...

What a find! Lovely olde worlde Inn with huge beams and creaky, sloping floors. Green King have done an excellent job in updating whilst keeping the ancient "bits"! Great check in by Teresa who went over all the places to visit within the city. Kept a bag so was able to explore without encumbrance, worth mentioning that said bag was...

Stayed for a night out with friends. It's a decent place, clean and fairly smart rooms, mad-looking blacked oak beams everywhere and a snip at £50 for single bed and breakfast. That bed is a nice size too, by the way; nearly a double. The very worst I could say is that it could do with a lick of fresh...

What can I say apart from title? Walked in for a pint and a steak and was greeted with " what can I get you chief?" I ain't no apache and frankly can't stand being greeted in this way by such an obnoxious batman. Waitress who delivered food and cleared up was lovely. Call going out to management if you...

Stayed at this hotel for one night only. Staff on the reception were pretty disinterested in the guests - bit of an inconvenience I would suggest. Reception never staffed always a button to press. Breakfast and breakfast staff were excellent. Good food and the staff were very attentive. Hotel room was grubby and extremely tired. E.g. Door handle broken, mold...

I stayed here some 40 years ago, when it was a very pleasant hotel. The building is very old in parts, but needs an injection of money to make it inviting and warm. Going upstairs to the accommodation, the brown carpet and walls are drab, drab, drab! The furniture in this area is minimal and looks as though it's come...

Visited Ye Olde Talbot for the 1st time in quite a while for lunch. I arrived just after midday, and even being a Friday, it was quite busy. I found a table by the window easily enough. The menu is typical pub grub: fish & chips, burgers, sandwiches, steaks, etc. The prices are higher than if you visited a Wetherspoons...
