We arrived at the Conrah with parent & grandparent of 97yrs old. I had contacted the hotel prior to the weekend as needed a room near the lift without stairs/steps for our grandmother. They put her in a big, comfortable room, a little shabby but with a huge bed and spotlessly clean bathroom. My mother was put in the room... More

As for many students in Aber (1988-96), the name of the Conrah signifies the local 'posh country hotel'. It's still good, but needs a bit of TLC under the new management. We stayed one night in rooms 1 and 2 - a double and a twin. The location is good - a few miles outside Aberystwyth, and quite easy to... More

I usually stay at the Conrah for business but this time went as a private guest taking my two young children plus father. We were all warmly welcomed and the rooms we were allocated were first class. We indulged in the restaurant once we had settled the children and we treated to top rate food and service. Breakfast was enjoyed... More

Absolutely charming country hotel with a friendly atmosphere and superb food, couldn't have asked for anything more. Yes, there is a little shabby chic in places but no more than one would expect from an old country house and, in any event, the new owners are carrying out an extensive refurbishment/restoration program.

As a student at Aberystwyth University back in the late eighties I had always fancied staying in the Conrah. In 2015 I finally managed it and was not disappointed. I was greeted in Welsh which immediately made me feel at home. I should imagine that non-Welsh speaking visitors would also be impreessed at the local feel to this hotel. My... More

This hotel has recently been sold and the new management has been striving to improve and update it. It is in an excellent position and it is most pleasant to sit outside and view the surrounding fields and hills in the distance. Parking is easy as it is a few miles away from the centre of Aberyswyth. When we first... More

We've just returned from a two night stay in a "king double room" at the Conrah. On checking in we were disappointed with the allocated room but a request to the pleasant and helpful receptionist resulted in our being allocated a far superior room. It was Sunday and we had dinner in the restaurant, typical "sunday lunch" fare which was... More

Oh what a shame. Got there after a long drive from London. Given a card to say they were renovating in other words an early warning perhaps they should have advised us of this before booking. Lovely room beautiful view of thd garden extremely dirty, stains all over the carpet and damp marks on the wall. Certainly need renovating should... More
