Went back to the Angel after some years. The rooms and décor are much improved and are very comfortable. The hotel also now benefits from a lift. The best feature though are the staff, all of whom are friendly and helpful.

My daughter and I treated ourselves to High Tea at the Angel this weekend and had a wonderful time. The cakes and savoury treats were delicious and the staff very attentive. We look forward to a return visit sometime!

We stayed for four nights as part of a group. The comfortable room was a decent size and very nicely decorated, and the bathroom which had a walk in shower rather than a bath (good, I prefer that) had good quality toiletries. And someone had thought about the location of the television, which could be viewed while sitting on the...

This is a lovely little town, on the border of Wales and well worth a visit. And the Angel is a good place to look for somewhere to eat. I went with a friend and their £28 fixed menu is a real snip! I had a delicious leek and wild garlic soup, followed by slow-cooked lamb and finished with a...

A beautiful lunch in the lovely courtyard, very knowledgeable and attentive waiting staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The quality of the food was worth the long drive. There is something on the menu for all tastes and even vegans are catered for, worth checking out the online menu. The hotel is very well maintained and the staff appear happy....

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for three nights last week as part of a 10- day vacation to London and South Wales. We had booked the hotel originally for two nights but because we absolutely loved being there, we decided to stay an extra night! All the hotel staff went out of their way to make sure...

Dropped in for lunch on our way to the Beacons from Yorkshire. It's a smart looking hotel from the outside but has a cozy bar and extensive casual seating for meals at the back. The service was a bit on the slow side but the quality of food was fine and they had a decent selection of coffees on offer...

What a beautiful hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay from the cosy seats in the bar by the roaring fire to super comfy beds and quality toiletries. The hotel decor was smart but relaxing. Very stylish. Bar food was delicious and staff friendly. Would definitely recommend.
