Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I am sorry to read you felt most areas of the hotel were small such as your bedroom, the bathroom, the breakfast room and small choice of cereals. The hotel has a variety of bedrooms which includes some with views, some without views, some larger and some smaller...

The Angel in Abergavenny is one of those county town hotels that's unsure of its place in the scheme of things. Is it a luxury boutique hotel? Is it a good value head-down place for passing business people and trippers on a budget? Is it a 'restaurant with rooms'? This ambivalence might not be the best identity for The Angel,...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. I am delighted to read you found the decor and quality up to scratch, rooms tidy and good with friendly staff. Our superior rooms are typically £161 however £129 was a reduced rate for that particular night. We offer the option of a continental breakfast or a full English breakfast in the mornings....

We stayed in this hotel some thirty years ago and remembered it fondly. This stay was different, the rooms have been recently refurbished and are small (we had a superior one), no bathroom just a shower. The room was at the front and the noise from the nearby pub and on the street was very loud. Breakfast was okay but...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. The hotel has been in the process of refurbishments for the past 12 years. The bedrooms are the same size as they have been for years, however we have categorised them according to size. Some of our bedrooms consists of bathrooms which we prefer these rooms are requested in advance. We hope to...

A slightly small but really luxurious room with a very comfortable bed and friendly staff were perhaps the highlight of this charming hotel. It's been a long time since I've had to remember to lock a hotel door after closing it, rather than it self-locking and I'm sure there have been many guests getting back and wondering why their room...

Dear Guest, Thank you for posting your review. It is a pleasure to read you enjoyed your luxurious room with a very comfortable bed and friendly staff. When guests are attending a function in the hotel, the drinks reception is held in the function room and not the Foxhunter Bar. I am delighted to read the event you attended went...

We stayed for one night in The Lodge cottage of the Angel hotel in Abergavenny when we came for a wedding nearby. The Lodge itself is separate to the main hotel but literally only 30 seconds walk from the back of the hotel. It provides a unique and quirky stay as you are in the Castle grounds and is brilliantly...

We've stayed in this hotel several times now whilst exploring the hills nearby and every time it's been fantastic. Some of the rooms are fairly small, but on our last two stays we've received a complimentary upgrade to a superior room with a bit more space which has been a pleasant surprise. The toiletries are luxurious (the White Company), the...

I attended a meeting held in a beautiful upstairs room where little tea lights changed the setting from a 'meeting room' to a lovely relaxed room. We have this meeting quarterly and I have to say the food last night was the best so far. It was so tasty, hot and beautifully presented. We had a choice of 5 starters,...

On arrival the first thing I noticed was the scaffolding at the front of the building, never a good start! But as I made my way inside the communal areas were all very pleasant, modern and light. I recently stayed at the Angel for 2 nights on a business trip. It was interesting to compare with its sister hotel, the Abergavenny, at which I stayed some weeks ago. I much preferred the Angel. Visited a few times, different occasions. Met here a couple of times for drinks, normally busy and quietly bustling atmosphere but I don't really understand who it's aimed at.
