A weekend staying in the cottage adjoining The Fox Hunter can only be described as 'Perfect'. The hosts/owners were so welcoming and friendly if felt like we were lifelong friends after 10 minutes. We were only planning on having 2 meals at the restaurant we ended up having 5 over 3 days - the menu is seasonal and the interesting...

Very late review of a Sunday Lunch we had in May but again the chefs at The Foxhunter continue to do a fantastic job! Having read a review complaining about a rude comment the owner made to a customer about a screeching 8 month old baby, I have to say that I don't think the owner was in the wrong...

Stayed overnight in The Stable -THE perfect getaway & just a few steps from the restaurant. A comfortable bed, a fridge full of breakfast items & the friendliness of hosts Matt & Lisa combine to create an atmosphere of complete tranquility. Eating in the restaurant is an amazing experience - wonderful food created by talented chefs & service by friendly...

If you're looking for a restaurant that serves world class cuisine but also welcomes children of all ages, look no further than The Foxhunter restaurant with rooms in Nantyderry. We first took our son when he was a month old and were made to feel so welcome and were so excited by the exquisite food sent out by Mr. Tebbutt...

Went for sunday lunch.... Food was fantastic could not fault it. Half way through our meal we were asked to remove our 8month old baby (basically because he was talking/expressing himself) Once we finished our meal we told the waitress/owner not sure really what she was that we did not appreciate her comment made and that it put a downer...

I am the owner and as such, I have to respond to the complaints of fellow diners. Your baby was screeching and everyone in the room was wincing at the noise. We are very family friendly ..particularly for Sunday lunch and we have no problem with well-behaved children. We had four families with children in on Sunday and two of...

Love this place, small menu but with good choice. Food always cooked to perfection. Although I'm not a fan of their 'shoestring' chips, too thin, crunch like crisps and difficult to eat. I've had the venison, lamb and steak from the foxhunter and all of which have been great, starters and desserts are good, in particular the brownie! Breads at...

We came here on a Sunday lunchtime. It was early January so it was very quiet which meant there was a lack of atmosphere which being that time of year couldn't have been helped. The place itself is charming, tucked away, simply but tastefully decorated. A very enjoyable experience overall, although not a cheap one ...and although we enjoyed...there are...

A long-awaited & very much anticipated visit back to the tranquility of The Foxhunter in Nantyderry, it had been 5 months since I was last there. I arrived during lunch and had a gorgeous Dexter Beef Bolognese, Tagliatelli & Pecorino from the "starters" - and due to the generous portions here, it was sufficient to tide me over until dinner....

My wife and I have lunch every month with a couple of long standing friends. Today we enjoyed a warm and friendly reception from Lisa at The Foxhunter. We opted for the 2 course set lunch and all agreed it was the best lunch we have had for a very long time. The food was beautifully presented and cooked to...

“Both the Old Stable and the Cottage are just a few steps away from the restaurant. As a single traveller I prefer the Stable, but anyone with a child would perhaps rather be accommodated in the Cottage.”

“The Stable is perfect for single travellers or a couple - modern & stylish interior. The cottage has 2 bedrooms so would suit a family - cosy & charming (with a small ouside area for the Summer).”

“If you have a wheelchair user in your party, you may want to check before going to the restaurant whether they can provide a table that you can be seated at comfortably. It may also be worth checking how easy it is to access the disabled toilet (fine for mobile people using walking aids but I am not sure you could get a wheelchair in and the toilet is a normal height). If you have high blood pressure you might want to ask them not to add additional salt to your dishes.”
