We often call at the Castle hotel for coffee when we are in Conwy. It is beautiful and historic with a lovely bar area and pleasant staff. When there in early December we saw that they were doing a festive afternoon tea. As it was bookings we expected it to be busy so we booked for the week before Christmas. When we arrived no one asked us if we had booked. We were shown into the beautiful restaurant ares by a very pleasant woman we were the only people in the room. The afternoon consisted of small sliced bread sandwiches and one scone and cream each one tiny chocolate mouse cake and a macaroon each nothing festive at all. The scones were hard obviously not fresh and all in all we felt cheated. I’ve been to other places for afternoon tea and had so much better this was very disappointing. We were the only couple in the restaurant so obviously they hadn’t made much effort. I don’t like giving a beautiful place like the Castle a poor review but it was advertised as festive and it wasn’t and the amount and freshness of the food was very disappointing. My partner had to buy something to eat on our way back to the car. …
Friendly and helpful staff in a hotel ideally located with good quality facilities. Two private car parks. Choose the one that suits the size of your car. We didn't always book a table for food but were always accommodated.
Ruby’s Review We ask ourselves how many reviews are conducted by a fur baby: Well this one is!!! On arriving i was greeted patted and made a fuss of, it was so nice being in such a dog friendly hotel. Me and my human family were shown to our room and on opening the door to room 207 there was a small but comfortable clean bed a bowl for my water and a bone biscuit which was much needed after a long journey. The hotel was situated in the centre of Conway with a stunning view over towards the castle ideal for walks and meeting other k9 breads. The hotel catered for my every needs, cooked sausage and bacon in the morning and even a beautiful steak burger for evening served on a pan skillet which was a lovely touch. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel to all breads of dogs small and large. You will be greeted and treated as we all should be. Thank you to all the staff for making myself and my human family welcome. Ruby …
Birthday treat for my wife. Helpful and really friendly staff. Breakfasts were really good but did not stop for dinner as we were out and about. Hotel/rooms clean and well equipped. Fabulous location in the heart of beautiful Conwy.
It's rare these days to have my expectations exceeded on an overnight business trip.....but this small, friendly, cosy hotel did exactly that on a cold January night! Following a genuine warm welcome, I was offered a complimentary upgrade where my room came with quality furnishings, Nespresso Coffee machine, excellent lighting and super comfortable bed...Couldn't have asked for more.
Travelling from Dublin with a very late arrival at The Castle hotel, we were really impressed with the friendly and helpful staff, and comfortable room. We slept and ate well and would definitely stay again.
wonderful experience all around. stayed in an historical room which was lovely with a bay window on the high street. room was beautiful and so comfortable. spa bathroom was an incredible touch. atmosphere at the hotel is warm and comfortable, staff were so professional and accommodating. breakfast is worth a visit on its own. couldn't ask for a better location in Conwy!
We had a fantastic time in the hotel, room was lovely had lots of little finishing touches that made you feel welcome. Food was fantastic, good choice and well presented. Staff really friendly and great location. Also dog friendly!
I must say that this is one of the best hotels in which I have ever stayed and felt comfortable. We received a wonderful room on the first floor, with a direct view to the Castle of Conwy. The camera was quite large, spacious, with a comfortable double bed, decorated quite chic, in English style. The old radio modified into a very digital modern tool has been quite an asset. We loved the furniture, the lights and the bath that was extremely clean and fully uploaded with many cosmetics provided by partners of the Castle Hotel. The breakfast is amazing, you can select multiple options from a particular list, and we must say that the Full Welsh Breakfast and the selection of Eggs were on top of our preferences. Good coffee for two committed people with cofeine, but mostly a very pretty salon, with a fireplace, where during evenings we used to dine and have a drink. Good selection of beers, tasty fish and chips! The hotel is dog friendly, so we had many fluffy little ones to play with from neighbors. The hotel has some nice pubs and restaurants around and is situated in the heart of Conwy. We went right after Christmas and the decorations were lovely. To put all briefly, is a very pretty hotel, with good taste, great food, lovely view and an accurate English spirit. Conwy is very intimate, historical, kind, even during winters, and the staff of the hotel is very implicated, receptive, and professional. So, if you go in North Wales add Conwy Castle Hotel on your list!…
The hotel is in a great location, plenty of parking and is a lovely building. The service and food were great! We were a little disappointed with the cleanliness of our room, build up of dust on the skirting boards and a build up of black mould on the shower cable. The room overall had a slight smell of mould due to the window frames being quite damp.
