In a tranquil setting, this hotel appears very smart.Inside, it has the feel of the set of a 'Country House Murder'. The number of rooms and wood panelled corridors make it quite a feat to get your bearings. We just had a light lunchtime snack which was faultless. However we were quite surprised that a place of this quality did... More

We stayed in the Bridal Suite which is quite old, but lovely and clean and newly decorated. It was my wedding day and the staff were very accommodating and let us check in early so that I could have my hair and makeup done. We ordered room service and the sandwiches were packed with fillings, not the skimpy stuff you... More

Firstly the location is superb and the hotel grounds are large and tranquil. The hotel is also large and stately with paneled walls and plenty of character, but with that age comes some tiredness in certain areas. The bedroom was ample and had a lovely view, but it did need a face lift. The food was very enjoyable and the... More

Popped in for a drink with a view to booking a family meal. Was informed at 21.35 on a Saturday night that the till was cashed up and he could not serve us, we have never been so embarrassed and disgusted at the terrible service we had received.

We went to the Bryn Howel restaurant for the first time in a year or so for Sunday lunch. The place has changed and the restaurant was almost empty at 14:00 on a Sunday and we wondered why. We soon found out as the experience was hit and miss. The food was very good as before, but the service left... More

I recently stayed in the Bryn Howel, I happened to be in the bar at the same time as the previous reviewer and family, I overheard the entire event and agree with all the reviewer has stated. The rate I paid for overnight was fair £49 for B&B, the room was clean although in serious need of update, the bathroom... More

My wife and I have holidayed in the locale for the last 4 Spring Bank holiday breaks. In fact we stayed in a lovely cottage just the other side of the canal so it was a gentle stroll to the hotel and back. The previous two visits to the hotel, on separate occasions, the service, bar food and restaurant service... More
