This hotel is what it is. Its in a beautiful setting, has lovely grounds and the rooms are just fine. The décor etc was what one would expect from its 3 - 4 stars. The food was a bit old fashioned but just fine. It was refreshing to visit a place that doesn't try to be what it is not...

We have just returned from Bryn Howel. We had a 2 night stay, we also looked at the reviews before making this choice. My husband planned this as a wedding anniversary surprise and we both disappointed. The room was adequate the T.V. out of the ark, there was no information in the room, the bathroom very dated. The receptionist very...

In a tranquil setting, this hotel appears very smart.Inside, it has the feel of the set of a 'Country House Murder'. The number of rooms and wood panelled corridors make it quite a feat to get your bearings. We just had a light lunchtime snack which was faultless. However we were quite surprised that a place of this quality did...

We stayed in the Bridal Suite which is quite old, but lovely and clean and newly decorated. It was my wedding day and the staff were very accommodating and let us check in early so that I could have my hair and makeup done. We ordered room service and the sandwiches were packed with fillings, not the skimpy stuff you...

Firstly the location is superb and the hotel grounds are large and tranquil. The hotel is also large and stately with paneled walls and plenty of character, but with that age comes some tiredness in certain areas. The bedroom was ample and had a lovely view, but it did need a face lift. The food was very enjoyable and the...

Popped in for a drink with a view to booking a family meal. Was informed at 21.35 on a Saturday night that the till was cashed up and he could not serve us, we have never been so embarrassed and disgusted at the terrible service we had received.

We went to the Bryn Howel restaurant for the first time in a year or so for Sunday lunch. The place has changed and the restaurant was almost empty at 14:00 on a Sunday and we wondered why. We soon found out as the experience was hit and miss. The food was very good as before, but the service left...
