Location is lovely right on the river, with the canal to the rear. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Lovely views from our front facing room and external balcony. Room was very clean. The upper landing was a little bit too warm. Enjoyed a really nice evening meal in the restaurant which had a good choice of starters and mains...

Thank you for posting a review following your stay - we're delighted that you enjoyed your time with us and it is always very pleasing to know that guests would stay with us again in the future. Spent over 25mins on the phone trying to book a room for 2 adults & a 5 yr old. Every time we were told a room was available it was then not available! Eventually booked a family room which turned out to be a tiny double that we couldn't fit in! No one at reception on arrival.. Checked in by...

I'm disappointed to receive your review. I've never known anybody to be on the phone for 25 minutes booking a room, never known the bar man to be rude, don't believe the very popular room you stayed in to be at all tatty (or the double bed to be too small for two people to fit in), and the waitress...

We have been visiting this hotel for a few years now and never tire of the location and how relaxation strikes the moment you walk through the door. It's nice to be valued as a returning customer and to be recognised and welcomed by the staff and owner alike. Reading some of the more negative comments left on here, I...

The hotel was lovely and well kept and the staff were so friendly and helpful! the view from the hotel over the river was beautiful and was amazing to see the steam train go past! only reason it wasn't 5 stars, there wasn't enough double beds as me and my girlfriend had to settle for two singles

Many thanks for your very pleasing review! I'm sorry that we were too busy to have a double room available for you and your girlfriend on this occassion (perhaps you will return and get a double?!), but I'm delighted that all aspects of the hotel met with your approval and that you enjoyed your stay with us. Kind regards Seamus

Stayed nearby to the Chainbridge in a self catering cottage. Partly booked on the strength of the "Dog Friendly" Bar area in the hotel, which we thought would be handy for a visit on our way home from exploring the area, with our Dog. Only to be told by the lovely young lady looking after the bar, that the condition...

I'm very sorry that you weren't able to come in to the hotel with your dog. Our policy for dogs can really be summarised in the following way - 'if the dog is hotel friendly, then the hotel is dog friendly'. We do welcome dogs, but we need to show consideration for the fact that as other guests eat and...

We called in at the Chainbridge on the off chance of them having a room free. How lucky. It is a gem of a place. Wonderful views and friendly staff. We had a room with a balcony, room 17, so we could stand and watch the waters in the river rushing by. The evening meal was lovely, and again we...

We arrived for our stay on 28th Jan and found the hotel to be as hot as hell. After a few drinks we went up to our room and found red hot water in the cold taps and when the toilet was flushed, there was a deafening humming through the plumbing for about 2 minutes meaning we couldn't flush the...

I'm very sorry that you were disappointed by your stay. It's a shame I didn't get the chance to talk to you before you posted this review (I had a day off, unfortunately) or during your stay as I am confident that we could have addressed many of the issues you mention. Predictably I disagree with some of the things...
