Beautiful location right next to the Dee so there is a constant background noise of the river but this adds to the charm. The room we had was spacious , clean and comfortable. The decor is perhaps a little tired but the room was perfectly...More
The Royal Hotel is in a fantastic location overlooking the River Dee. It retains a lot of its old charm but seems very unloved.
Our room was a really good size and the bed was comfortable. The decor is really bland and needs updating. The...More
My partner and I stayed there last night (28.10.2017) for one evening. First of all, we turned up to an old-style building (not too bad). The public toilets were a shambles. When we got to the room, it was very dated, at the front of...More

Lovely old building, redecorated but not extensively modernised so hasn't lost it's charm. Great service from friendly, helpful staff. Gluten free cereal & bread available at breakfast on request and full english (just exclude the sausage).

I don't think it would be suitable. There are steps everywhere. While we were there a man with 2 sticks was struggling up the stairs to the restaurant for breakfast. There was no lift or stair lifts that I could see.

he Hotel has it's own off-street car park opposite the Hotel. Some parts of the car park are visible from some of the rooms situated at the front (street-side) of the Hotel. There is no gate to the car park, but it is off-street, and staff are aware of vehicle registrations. I do not know what security arrangements are like with regard to checking on vehicles. People other than residents guests also use the car park.

"Rooms not facing the river may be quieter for river noise but then you would lose the specatular view"
