We ate here after visiting Snowdon, we were hungry and really looking forward to some good pub food - I had steak pie and my husband had a burger, both meals were tasteless and poor value for money. The barman was indifferent and stood at the till to take our order which was at the other end of the bar,...

I booked 3 rooms for me and my friends to hike Snowdon. The pictures on the website looked great and we were looking forward to our stay. On arrival there is no car park, you have to carry your luggage from the free car park in the village (full when we arrived). There is no reception, you have to check...

I was so looking forward to staying in this beautiful village and have a nice stay there before climbing Snowdon. It was a total shock to see such appalling rooms and the bathrooms were so dirty, hair in the plughole, mould everywhere, toilet seats were so dirty with stained carpet in bathroom and bedrooms. We really thought this was a...

I like this pub, very interesting watching the traffic, trying to turn the corner, careful if you sit near the door outside lol. Some people say its slow, well I like the relaxed atmosphere and had no problems being served at the bar, will use again as we plan to camp at Beddgelert again

We ate here after a day of walking, we were ravenous and while the food was edible it was by no means tasty or value for money...the steak was so bad I had to resort to using ketchup just to give it flavour. Even the chips were horrible!! Would not recommend eating here if you can avoid it!

We recently stayed for two nights here and whilst the location is lovely the hotel unfortunately is not. We were only interested in a place to rest our heads, we weren't looking for anything spectacular. Even with this mindset, we were disappointed. When we arrived, the place was deserted. We had to stand and wait at the bar unsure of...

We had to follow someone to our rooms, though he wasn't sure where they were! The decor of the rooms was like something out of the 70's, and the cleanliness was very poor. In one of the rooms the shower only ran cold, in the other, the telly didn't work. when we checked in a phone conversation before booking, we...

Whilst the location is fab and the food is good you will be sorry to part with your money for such poor service and cleaning standards. The family room my son stayed in had pubic hair on the loo seat, squashed spiders on the wall and an up pleasant smell throughout and one of the beds was broken. Booking in...

Thank you for your feedback the cleaning standards has now improved drastically as I now have a new cleaning staff, the bed that you said was broken well I cannot find anything wrong at all with any beds, I cannot understand why you waited 15 min to check in if you would have gone to the bar and not wait...

I ordered a mushroom and garlic chicken dish which was clearly heated in the microwave and was completely tasteless along with tasteless mash and vegetables. The chicken was actually tough. I complained to the server/barman who said he would pass my complaint to the chef. We stayed in the bar for a drink afterwards and I asked the server did...

Thank you for your feedback, I have recently taken over the business and a few issues needs dealing with and one of them was to employ a new chef which has now been on board for the last 3 weeks and the quality of the food has changed hence the 28 years experience that the new chef carries and proud...

The central location of the hotel makes the restaurant a popular destination for tourists wanting dinner and that's why we went We went on Friday at 6pm and managed to get a table but 30 mins later and it was full Food is traditional pub food at a reasonable price. Thank you very much for your feedback we thrive on our traditional pub grub food and locally sourced whenever possible, our normal waiting time is no more than around 10 minutes but during busy times it is a little longer which we do tell our customers in advance before they order to avoid disappointment. Once again Thank you for your...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
I Have recently taken this Hotel over in the past few months as a manager to accomodate for better standards and keeping up our reputation for excellent traditional quality locally produced food at a reasonable price with a good selection on the children's menu and an outstanding reputation for real ale, lagers, ciders and a selection of fine wines. We are renound for being a children and dog friendly hotel and we are now working on our rooms re-decorating them but they all have a new comfortable bed with fresh linen and a flat screen TV with built in DVD player to make your stay as cosy as possible for a budget priced hotel. ... more   less
