In the morning. we were met by Nicola who looked after us all day. Her dad, Paul, explained about the Welsh mountain sheep we were going to shear. He was very relaxed and calm and put us both at ease. After his demonstration, it was our turn - 1 sheep each! The experts shear one a minute; we took much...

I didn't actually stay at the cottages but I did the lambing experience via 'GooddayOut'. It was a Mother's Day gift from my children and I now want to do this every year! I had the best experience and 4 hours ever! I was so lucky to have been the only one to have booked for that particular day, so...

We had a great time at Aber Cottages. The accommodation was incredibly well equipped for adults and children alike - we stayed in a cottage with cots, high chairs, games and toys. Everything we needed for four adults, two newborns and a toddler. There is so much to do in this area, I highly recommend both Aber cottages and the...

We didn't actually stay here but visited as a "Great Day Out" experience. Liz, Paul and their daughter Nicola were fantastic hosts. We spent the morning learning about how the farm runs and even saw a lamb being born! We probed Paul and Nicola with lots of questions about farming and felt we could ask them anything. It was a...

We hired both cottages for a large group of friends plus kids for a long weekend. The farm was a beautiful setting in the remote countryside of the Brecon Beacons. The owner Liz was extremely welcoming to us with cake, milk and eggs on arrival. she was happy for us to take walks over the stunning farmland with her dogs...

We stayed at Aber cottages for a short break Friday to Monday and had a great time. We booked both properties as there were three generations of two families and it worked out really well. The oldsters were happy to join in the noise and retreat to the comfort of bryniau pell when the kids got too loud. Comfortably furnished,...

just returned from a weekend break at Aberhyddnant, this is the first time I've ever taken the time to write a review so that may speak for itself. The cottages are perfectly appointed with everything you could need including the food hamper with wonderful local produce. The owners are welcoming and helpful as are their two dogs one of which...

Tucked away in beautiful welsh countryside, this place exceeded our expectations in lots of ways. We were very warmly welcomed, the fire had been lit in the cosy cottage living room, a cake, milk and fresh eggs had been left for us. The surrounding countryside is stunning and if you're after somewhere quite off the beaten track this is the...

My wife and I spent a week in Bryniau Pell cottage. The welcoming home-made fruit loaf, fresh cut flowers and organic free range eggs waiting our arrival set the tone for our stay. A well appointed, compact cottage that still gave one ample space. Beautiful oak floors, comfortable furnishings complimented by a woodburning stove including a plentiful supply of logs...
