An excellent position for accessing the town, the theatre and canalside walks. The Brecon regimental museum is also close-by. Rooms are airy, clean and functional. Hosts Mary and Gareth are very welcoming.

I had Sunday lunch at The Gremlin. It was good basic food, which was hot and very cheap. The decor needs updating, or cleaning or something. It is just daggy and dark and slightly smelly. I think it's the carpets. You can't have a pot of tea there because sorry we don't do tea. What? So go somewhere else.

Management response:

Can't understand how you had a Sunday lunch on a Saturday we don't cook on Saturdays. We also serve coffee and tea . I think you have the wrong place as our only carpet was new last year .

My husband and I stayed in both the cottages and hotel part of the Gremlin for a total of 6 months whilst working in Brecon. Both types of accommodation are of excellent quality, the cottages being a 2 storey, self catering lodge, complete with kitchen and lounge area and each of the hotel rooms with very comfortable beds and excellent...

We stayed two nights in this b&b and to be honest it was too long. The owners are really nice but that's about it. My friend was eaten alive by gnats in the bed during the night, the place smelled strongly of stale tobacco and it was extremely noisy from the pub downstairs - all night especially when they have...

Stayed at the Gremlin for Trekfest this year as it was very close to the starting point. My friend and I stayed in one of the cottages and it was perfect for what we needed. The cottages are basically furnished but are clean and well maintained and have nice comfy beds and tea, coffee, sugar and milk so that you...

Another stay in the Cottages at the back of The Gremlin with the lovely Mary who always gives a warm welcome and is the perfect hostess. The cottages are absolutely perfect for walkers with plenty of room for sorting out kit after a walk with a cup of tea and a nice hot bath. Booking is easy and the price...
