This is the better of the two Travelodge’s in Cardiff City Centre in terms of rooms and customer service; location is also very good. The rooms are not great and not the best Travelodge rooms that I have stayed in; the television was awful. The customer service is excellent; here the staff care about the customer and will go that extra mile to assist; the change in management has made a real difference. Located in the heart of the shopping district and close to the theatres, restaurants, and bars. On the opposite side if the city to the train station and main bus stops. I was not going to return after the last terrible stay however I am pleased that I did, now I can recommend this Travelodge.

Stayed here last night with my boyfriend, great location so much around, restaurants, bars and shops. Hotel room was okay very basic. Bathroom was extremely small. No shampoo or hand wash provided so we had to go buy both at a near by shop. Bathroom was very clean, Paid £3 for the 24 wifi but didn’t get a confirmation code. The new girls at front of house was very helpful and got it sorted after a few phone calls to manager. Wifi was rather slow. Breakfast selection was good, lots to choose from cereals plenty of fruit, croissants, full English breakfast. Toast jams and yhoguts all available, orange juice machine wasn’t working firstly but after speaking with staff he had sorted it. Orange juice was awful tasted like it had been extremely watered down. Breakfast buffet was around £8.75 extra pp, Overall was a good stay. Two new girls were lovely friendly and chatty. Overall fairy good stay. Would recommend. But wouldn’t pay more than £30 a night just because how basic the rooms were.

The room was filthy. Stains on the floor, marks on the walls. Bathroom also very dirty. Only stayed 20 minutes and left to stay in the better travelodge at Cardiff Bay. The receptionist refused us a refund or to let us pay the extra to move to another travelodge as we had already checked in.

Our room was very noisy until 3.30am due to people entering/leaving pubs or nightclubs and the music. Yet another loose toilet paper holder. No room around toilet to move. Would not trust plastic chair in room as was rocking back and fore on it legs. No view out of window. No where comfy to sit if you just wanted to watch tv. No interaction with staff at breakfast even just being asked if you were ok. Reception staff not very interested in us when we were there. Had to go looking for a member of staff to check in.
