Would give zero if it was there. Checked in went out for dinner came back. No hot water. No protectors on bed or pillows. No phone in room. Dirty bathroom. Brought the manager up to our room showing our displeasure. CHECKED OUT. The photos on the website must be from years ago nothing like what is being advertised. Please do not stay here false advertising!!!!!!

We visited five years ago, the standard was high and hotel well maintained. On our return we have been disappointed with the value for money. There have been a few things I wouldn’t expect at a hotel charging this amount. In our room the carpets were stained and picture was dirty. Some areas were dusty. The bin was in need of replacement. The toilet was temperamental. Despite having a fridge in the room the hotel supply those awful UHT milks and there is no glass or water supplied. Hotel staff friendly and convenient for the walk into the city. It’s a shame and I hope standards can be improved in future.

What a superb goal was scored whilst staying at the Novotel Cardiff. People we meet are so influential. Douglas the General Manager often talks about the his very dear friend Trevor Wattan. Our host from Brazil also enlist this influence with that endearing persona flamboyant style and panache typical of the South American culture. Even his socks are worthy of mention in the same genre of the artist LS Lowery. The hotel provides the synergy with its football stadium with a mix of old and new. I stayed in the old Custom Shed sympathetically providing premiership football venue. Even Pele would be inspired by such a place to display his great vision and passing abilities. What makes staying here that extra special is how the overall team plays. Douglas the team captain marshals the experience from defence. We have two chefs, the goalkeepers serving the team from the back. John from Malaysia buzzes around the pitch like a badminton player, Frederika the stylish Italian winger is full of vigour and grace. Andrew and Anthony two Welsh players provide such loyal and dedicated marshalling in defence. Thitaree, Lit, and Lilly from the blessed Thailand serve up those special welcomes at breakfast as did Emily in the bar. Finally in the team we are excited by the delights of Nathan resident Welshman maintaining a very unusual overhead cycle kick to score some sensational goals. Also, not forgetting all the background staff who provide a unique and special service for the spectators. The local grounds we may visit are too very important around the Capital of Wales. The castles of Cardiff, St Fagans, Caerphilly, the fairytale one at Coch, National Museum of Wales, Llandaff Cathedral, delightful gardens of Bute, Cathay’s Park, day trips to Barry, Penarth, and the Welsh Valleys of Rhymny, the splendid did concert halls and city Theatre. Finally the city hosts many International shops but do visit numerous Victorian Shopping Arcades with their individual presence. Cardiff with its Novotel, Special Douglas the GM, the exciting and wonderful footballing team together with those grounds to visit make this a unique destination. Most certainly a hat trick of goals!

Felt uncomfortable in the lobby of the hotel. Young men hanging around all day. Car park not free and really expensive. Have stayed in Novotel before, will look for alternative when in Cardiff again. .

Quite a good stay . However the parking was expensive as a guest £13 per night which came as a shock as there was nothing on their website stating that. We assumed as we were staying there it would be free. None guests it’s £20 . However, the staff were lovely . Sophie at the desk was very helpful. We stayed in room 451 and the double glazing was excellent to keep the street noise out. Nice clean hotel . The room itself was quite spacious with a queen size bed. We had asked by prior email for a twin bedded room but were told on arrival they did not have any twin bedded rooms at all in the hotel . The bed was excellent and there was even a sofa in the room which I believe converted into abed bed . However, there was no telephone . The tv was good , shower worked well and plenty of hot water. Housekeeping was not available ( apparently due to Covid restrictions) . It meant we made our own bed , we had to ask for new towels , tea and coffee and emptying of the bin. We were staying for 4 nights and on the 3rd night at midnight and at 4am in the morning there was some idiots screeching in the hallway. As there was no phone I couldn’t call the front desk. I mentioned this in the morning and I asked if they had cctv in the hallways but they said they didn’t. They gave me a number to call on my mobile if it happened again. It never did though. It wasn’t the hotels fault but a phone in the room would have handy to deal with it immediately. On arrival we were given a welcome drinks voucher which we used on our final day and that was a nice touch. The barman was friendly and welcoming. On the whole it wasn’t a bad stay though but probably of Premier Inn standard
