With free WI-FI throughout, a 24 hour reception, the Ibis Cardiff hotel boasts an ideal location in the centre of the capital of Wales. Only 500 m from the railway station and 20 km from the airport, the hotel is just a few minutes walk from Cardiff Castle, the shops of Saint Mary Street and the Millennium Stadium. In order to get the best car park rates, please make sure that you come to the reception first (there is a lay-by area where you can leave your car), so that you can do the check in and leave your bags. Good location. Clean as far as we can tell. Basic necessities covered. Price range really good for what the room offers and location. Breakfast a bit expensive for what it offers. Beware! They mention parking on the website but in reality they don't offer parking. It is just private parkings near the hotel that you need to pay for extra average £20/day.

Awful stay at Ibis Cardiff. Old tired room with mould around the window sills and musty smell, not worth the money. Also there was reconstruction work going on that we were not informed about therefore we were woken up at 8am most mornings to the sounds of loud drilling. Informed the manager Marc who was not concerned and extremely rude. I am shocked this man is representing the company because he has no compassion and makes promises he can't keep, probably just to fob you off. I have since contacted this hotel to enquire about my complaint and had the phone put down on me twice by Marc the manager who does not want to deal with my concerns. Absolutely ludicrous!!

Our rooms were clean, comfortable bed & both nights I had a great night sleep considering near a busy road. I went down to reception & ordered room service on my second night & the young gentleman who served me was very friendly & polite. I always stay here when I am visiting Cardiff & definitely will be back again.

Room not cleaned and not replenished, had to ask for clean cups, tea & coffee. Key card didn't work on several occasions, having to go back downstairs to get it re set. Not told when booked that bar and restaurant would be closed. Last morning a leak from the veimh from the room above, just missing bags we had near by. Left quite a puddle. Location was good, but room really needs updating, comfier bed and new carpet.
