On arrival we were greeted calmly and allocated rooms near each other. This was extremely helpful as we had a disabled guest with us. The rooms are greatly improved since the hotel was redecorated recently. The only shame is that when booking online there was no mention that the Toby carvery served breakfasts. Parking was secure and noisy building work had ended and so we had a peaceful sleep. This was a far improved service this time around and I think the welcome we received from the very pleasant receptionist was key to setting the standard for the stay.
We was welcomed by Owen on reception he was friendly and very helpful he made us feel very welcome and nothing was to much trouble for him throughout our 5 night stay , so thank you very much Owen for your great hospitality
Arrived on a miserable wet evening and failed to see the entrance to the hotel so entered via Toby Carvery. The room was initially cold but heater worked. Carpet was a bit dirty with a hole in . Tv handset broken and shower dispenser also broken . Room very dated
Great welcome on arrival, easy check-in. The room was very clean and comfortable. Had a Lavazza coffee machine which was great only problem was the mugs, too big to stand alone, had to hold the mug at an angle, but very minor point. The bed was very comfortable and extra pillows were provided. Being able to walk through from the reception area into the Toby Carvery was a bonus. Thoroughly recommend this Travelodge and I will definitely be staying here again.
We needed a hotel for one night stay, at short notice, to fulfil a family request. The refurbished Travelodge at Whitchurch, Cardiff proved to be a good choice, at a very reasonable cost. We arrived at around 6pm and were greeted by a friendly young man, who completed our check-in swiftly and in a professional manner. Our room, though not large, was perfectly adequate and very clean, complete with tea and coffee-making facilities. The only slight disappointment was the Toby Carvery, which we had booked for an evening meal. Whilst the meat was of good quality, with four choices, the vegetables left a lot to be desired - we did not even attempt the dry, charred cabbage! There are other establishments within a short distance and we would use an alternative eatery next time. After a comfortable night’s sleep, checkout early the next morning was also swift and very easy.…
My shower curtain was dirty and the stairs were dirty for the entirety of my stay. My soap dispenser didnt work either. Although it was basic I had everything I needed and the towels and tea and coffee were changed every day as requested.
Good value . Room and bathroom clean. Lodge attached to the beefeater restaurant. Overall good 2 night stay would use this travel lodge again. Location is great for traveling into Cardiff . Thank you.
Shower was very small but everything else was perfect. Staff were very welcoming and the hotel was clean and tidy. The breakfast at the Toby was good and ideal. There’s a handy Tesco express across the road for essentials. Highly recommend.
Stayed several times for leisure , know what im getting and the location and free parking are great .. the restaurant next door is very convenient. staff are a credit , always polite and very helpful :)
We stayed 3 nights here while visiting family nearby and were pleased with the friendliness of staff encountered and the size and comfort of the twin-bedded ground floor room which was requested when I noticed there was no lift. Some may criticise the shower curtain but as long as kept inside cubicle was no problem. Shower hot and easy to use. Lovely towels and bedding. Happy to return.
