I enjoyed staying at the Travelodge in Whitchurch and would visit again when in Cardiff. I can recommend it to others as a place to stay when visiting the area. It was reasonably priced and had an adjacent carvery restaurant that served food from 8 am to late in the evening with a bar. There was an ATM across the road at the petrol station. There were also cafes, restaurants, shops and supermarkets to be found in both Whitchurch and Rhiwbina villages which are located only a short distance away ( approximately 10 minutes on foot)...

I've been staying here for a night or two for the last year and half, home from home.

In a nut shell, the hotel gets the basics right. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, the staff at reception always greet with a smile and make their guest feel welcome. Tara deserves a special mention in particular, polite and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for her!

I don't need much from a hotel, and that's what I got. No fault of anyone's, but the whole place feels (in estate agent vernacular) a bit 'tired', despite what looked like fairly recent silicone around the edges. The room smelt slightly on arrival (a bit mothbally) but once aired with the window open for a bit, was fine. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and the view was lovely (top floor, no lift - worth remarking on for those with heavy luggage/reduced mobility). No soap in the dispensers (basin and shower), only two tea bags/milk for two cups. The water pressure in the shower was great, almost too good. This is the one thing I think which could be improved: my nose (of average size, although my daughter might beg to differ!) practically touched the shower curtain and it was impossible to prevent the water from leaking around the edges of it, flooding the floor quite substantially. Another reviewer said the shower was like that on a campsite, but (as a very seasoned camper) I would suggest is less good than many campsite showers... Perhaps sealed screens? Staff were friendly. All fairly reflected in the price.

We were moved to the Whichurch Travelodge due to issues at a different hotel we had booked for the rugby international weekend. Whilst the hotel may not look the most glamorous, we found the staff were fantastic. The lady on reception (apologies we did not get your name) on Sunday late morning, was so efficient and helpful, as soon as our rooms were ready she informed us.
The superior rooms were very clean and had all the basics a long with a coffee machine. The housekeeper Johanna did a great job, we could not fault her attention to detail.
Thank you for a great stay, shame about the rugby result!

Just booked 2 nights here, location was good. But the hotel needs updating, we booked a double accessible room, the twin beds were no more than camp beds, I think they use these in triple rooms for a child to sleep with parents ! Paid 2 nights for Wifi, cut off after just 1night. Very noisy at the rear of hotel, very early morning , with rubbish being collected & clearing bottles etc from the bar area. We would not choose this hotel agsin, we have had better service from Travelodge at Cardiff Bay. There are 2 other Travelodge hotels in the city centre, but we were warned by friends to avoid these, due to late night noise from entertainment venues close by. So this time we were disappointed with our stay in many ways 😕

This Travelodge uses Single Beds Disguised as kingsize
We Paid for Kingsize beds but received 2 single beds disguised as Kingsize resulting in a very uncomfortable nights sleep,
Both my wife and myself woke up with backache.
When we asked to change rooms we were told they only had single beds.
Although the staff were nice I will not be returning to this hotel

We stayed in 2 rooms as a family group, however room 220 had alot of black mould spores on the bathroom ceiling. The internal corridor also had scattered bits of rubbish on the carpet outside the room. We had dirty spoons, and also only quarter of a toilet roll was in the bathroom. The carpark needs to be seriously resurfaced as the amount of potholes is ridiculous. Only thing I did like about this stay, was there's a internal door to the Toby Carvery so you don't even need to exit the hotel to get food.

Regularly stay at Travelodge Whitchurch Cardiff. Sorry to say but it is going downhill, nowhere near as good as it was. Maintenance is poor. Standard of cleanliness is slipping. Prices being charged these days makes it not worth the money anymore. Disappointing!

We are leaving here today 1st February after a three week stay.
This was our second three week stay but this stay was better than the first one. We are on the top floor, great view of the fire station. Ok a lot of stairs to climb but it gave me exercise and got me to do my steps for the days. The room has a television, tea and coffee making facilities, shower and I believe enough room to move around without trouble.
The hotel manager Jodie is very friendly, approachable, helpful and a lovely lady. She always went above and beyond to help me out(one day especially).
Raluca is a very friendly and helpful receptionist and always around cleaning and hoovering.
Louise the reception supervisor is a lovely lady again always willing to help and friendly.
Our room was topped up twice a week and completely cleaned once a week this was great with us as it meant the room was always stocked up well.
We will be sad to leave as we were made to feel very welcome.
We have definitely loved our time here and will be returning again.
Huge thanks to Jodie and her team for everything you have done over the last three weeks. I know Gizzy has also appreciated it as well.
