Definitely recommend this place! All hotels nearby were almost double what we paid to stay here. The rooms are lovely, spacious and clean. The walk is not far at all to the principality stadium and the city centre (closer than we anticipated having read the reviews). We had a lovely continental breakfast in the morning and Clive made us laugh away our hangover! Clive was super!! He had our room ready early for us, had so much knowledge of the area and was so friendly. He makes the place what it is!! We were worried about the parking situation, especially being as the rugby was on. We drove down the street and turned towards the Swalec stadium. There was a sign saying “rugby parking £15”. So that’s what we did, we probably would have found a space on the street, but the ease of just parking up, and being able to leave it there over night and it being less than a 5 minute walk to the guest house was a no brainier. So overall we will be using this place again when we come to Cardiff! Thank you very much 😄

This was our second visit to the Church Guesthouse. It is in a great location, and an easy walk into the city. Clive was very welcoming and very knowledgable about the area. Would definitely recommend.

With a last minute booking we were more than impressed, excellent location and brilliant comma from Clive prior to and after arrival. Clive was an excellent host, made to feel very welcome and couldn't fault a thing. Room was spacious and well maintained. Would most definitely recommend and convenient for a nice walk into Cardiff City. As we arrived on a Sunday we had no issue with parking whatsoever. Would not hesitate in recommending to others.

Clive is friendly, good humoured and a mine of Information about what to see and visit in Cardiff even accounting for the weather. The location is pretty good with about a 10-15 minute walk to the city centre and the castle. Breakfast was good, continental style and included kiwi berries which I've never seen before. They were very sweet. Clive can also supply toast upon request. The breakfast room is bright and pleasant although I thought the tables are a little bit too close together. My room was at the back of the house and it was very spacious. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. To brighten the room it was painted white throughout. The bathroom was tiled in white as we. The shower was very good but I had to be careful not to scald myself. My one minor complaint is that the only mirror in the bathroom was behind the toilet. This may not bother some but I am a wet shaver and it was inconvenient. Very highly recommended.

From booking to check out, Clive made sure we were looked after. Knowing we’d be traveling down in the evening he recommended the nearest places to grab some food and even advised on price and if you’d need to book. We stayed for 2 nights and he greeted us by name the first morning recognising my partners voice after he’d spoken to him on the phone and made sure we’d settled in ok. He made sure we knew which direction to head in when going out for the day and recommended where to go and when the best times were. The 2nd morning he’d remembered our toast preferences and even made sure Andy got his much loved welsh cakes!! The room was extremely comfortable and warm despite the dreary weather. The guest house was walking distance to all the major sites and the town meaning we could leave the car parked at the guest house and explore on foot. Definitely will go back if we decide to head that way again :) thanks so much for a great stay.

My husband and I visited Cardiff for the weekend. Clive was fantastic about recommending things to do and places to get good drink and food. The B&B was clean and comfortable. The breakfast had a good range of options. It was an easy walk through the park to the castle and shopping area. The Bay was easy to get to by bus. The water taxi would have been even easier but it was closed due to weather. Unexpected perk: Clive explained the game of rugby to us. AND WALES JUST BEAT AUSTRALIA!!!!

We were fortunate enough to be able to make room reservations under very short notice. We then received a courtesy text from Clive (Cliff!) regarding details. He practically met us at the door. Actually, he did meet us at the door. Clive made us feel like we were the only guests in the place. The attention to detail and the attention he gives the guests...I've never seen anything like it. The questions he asked, he was genuinely interested in the answers. After some conversation, he gave us excellent recommendations for activities as well as dining. Parking was painless (as painless as it can be for American drivers in the UK). Plus, Clive was right, once we parked, we didn't need the car again until we were headed out. There is so much to see within walking distance! The instructions for the codes are clear and the house itself is beautiful. Breakfast is full of variety as well as tasty. If I ever make it back to Cardiff, I will stay here.

A clean, comfortable and quiet b&b located within easy reach of the city centre. The beds are excellent, ensuring a good night's sleep. The manager, Clive, is welcoming and attentive and did everything possible to make our stay easy. Highly recommended.
