Ibis Budget Cardiff Centre offers a friendly service experience, though some guests have pointed out occasional unprofessionalism. Its central location is popular among travelers for its proximity to the city's attractions, despite some parking issues. The atmosphere is welcoming, with modern, clean rooms that are appreciated for their comfort. While the hotel's cleanliness is generally praised, there are remarks about the basic nature of amenities and the need for updates in some rooms. Value perceptions are mixed, with many noting the hotel's affordability but some desiring more for their money.

We stayed for a night out, therefore we only needed a place to shower and sleep, otherwise I wouldn't have chosen to stay here. For the money you cannot go wrong, it's a bargain, however if you'll spending a lot of time in your room it's a fairly noisey hotel and not the most comfortable. The rooms are very small, there's not much space to put your things so travel light. There is a small toilet room and then the shower and the sink are next to your bed. If you are travelling with a friend and not a partner I would suggest getting two rooms. The bed is ok. There is a small TV in the room and tiny rail with a few hangers. We had to request an iron at the reception desk, which was fine, but there were no ironing boards so that proved difficult. You can purchase food and drink 24hr. Unfortunately an alarm was going off on the building opposite all night long from about 2 am in the morning, therefore we left by 8 am to go home and get some rest. Not the hotel's fault just unfortunate timing for our stay.

All in all, a decent stay for the money you pay.

Given the name budget, you can exepect all you need are a comfortable bed with clean linen, functional and clean shower cubical and toilet for a single night or two. We were very lucky to have received a special treat for our first 2 weeks stay, which was fantastic to our situation - a big relocation. We spent most of our evenings on tv, laptop and phones with efficient wifi speed at the hotel with appreciation. Though there is no tea / coffee nor a kettle available in the room, hot water is available at the breakfast room and the staff are at your service 24/7. Special mention to Diogo who works overnight, he showed what attitude a hotelier shall carry and present and we appreciated his follow up towards our situation. Thank you Ibis Budget Cardiff Centre for giving us a comfortable start to our return.

We just stayed in Cardiff and we often choose a Ibis Budget when we travel to a City with our dog. The stays are most of the times very good but I just wanted to mention this one in Cardiff. The staff were all so friendly from the reception, breakfast (good breakfast) and cleaning staff. And one time when we came back to a cleaned room they put a folded towel in our doggy basket like ours. I know some people find this odd but for us it was really heartwarming because to us she is family, so thank you so much for this lovely touch!

Lovely hotel! The staff were amazing & so accommodating with our check-in & when we were stuck with parking. They went above & beyond for us & ensured we were looked after. The place is so lovely & clean & the rooms were perfect for what we needed, not to mention the overnight cost was fantastic! Well done to the lovely hotel & hard working staff. You made our stay very enjoyable!

We were not expecting much. This was just a room to sleep in, convenient walk to the city centre and stadium. The parking was easy and secure and walking into the 'reception' area was a pleasant surprise. Happy, helpful staff with free coffee and mint water whenever we wanted 24/7. The dining area was also a 24/7 service and the whole area was bright, clean and welcoming. Out room was basic (as expected) but surprisingly comforting and functional. For a weekend away, it was absolutely fine. Everything worked and was clean and the shower was wonderful. The bed was firm but surprisingly comfortable and the 'do not disturb' label (attached photo) epitomised the humour and fun feel of the place. The room was very quiet. Food and drink were a bit pricey for a budget hotel but the buffet breakfast looked good and you could buy sandwiches and snack separately. The beauty of this hotel was it's proximity to the City and stadium which as a 10 minute quick walk. The shopping centre is the same distance as well as the popular bars and restaurants. Checking out was just handing the door key back. A really pleasant and surprisingly comfortable stay.

Arrived early evening to an almost empty car park. Went inside to enquire as to what the procedure was to park the car. This was met by a very rude and unhelpful receptionist who offered no assistance at all. It took nearly an hour on the phone to book a space through a third party. The parking was advertised at £4.00 for 24hours but i was charged £10.00
The bed room was the size of a shoe box with very basic accommodation. The bed being small and uncomfortable. Twin pillows and a thin sheet of poor quality. The towels again small in size with one miniscule bar of soap for two persons. The bathroom light would not switch off and flickered throughout the night.

We are saddened to read your review and to learn of your disappointment. I would like to take this opportunity mention that as we advertised its a no frills accommodation as we displayed in our websites, parking charges even though it is clear on our websites and in the parking area that you will have to pre book the parking but it did not reach you during the stay so we will try to make it prominent as possible and also the price is very competitive at the time of in the market. in regards staff behaviours i can assure you that we will look in to it and provide with them more rantings to avoid this kind of situation in the future. However, on behalf of the hotel & its management we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. We have taken your comments very seriously & appreciate your feedback. We value your patronage. This has to be the worst place I have ever stayed in my life. The staff are rude, the place is a total dump, the rooms are beyond basic and are in very poor condition, this is not a hotel, this is like a really sub standard youth hostel. It is that bad I wouldn't even let my dog stay here. The man on reception is rude, they expect you to register and login to some random website in order to park your car, but then find it could be anywhere in the area, 10-15 minute walk from the hotel! Which at 3am in the morning is less than funny especially when your charged an additional £10+ for the privilege. Upon finally parking and checking in their keycards are rubbish and simply work on and off. I finally get to the room and the card doesn't work no matter how many times I try it. I then go back down to the rude man on reception who wants to argue about my complaint regarding parking, he then re-inputs the code into the car and again I head back to the room. This time it works, so I go into the room to find a bed with the thinnest pillows and quilt you have ever seen, it may as well have just been a single thin sheet. The air conditionining was making an awful noise and despite there being controls would not fully switch off so I was left with a mosquito whinning sound all night long. The seal on the window had also completely gone, the TV did not work nor did the remote control, so BB1 was the only channel available to me. Being situated on the front facing side of the building I then had no option but to sit listening to cars and coaches driving by all night long instead, I got approx 2-3 hours sleep and was then woken by their cleaning staff shouting to each other in their foreign language down the corridor. So with less than 3 hours sleep I got up and went down at 10.25am in hope I would still have the opportunity to get a breakfast, which in most hotels would be until 11am. At this dump there was nothing for the £60 room rate, despite it stating I would receive a substantial breakfast, instead I was handed a coin by the receptionist to use in their sub standard coffee machine!! £8 for a watery hot chocolate !!! In my opinion this place should be ripped down and turned into a car park, it is not suitable for animals let alone humans.

Booked 7 nights through Booking.com but somehow they have canceled the booking due to not charging the appropriate card. The hotel GM was more than helpful by keeping our booking and payment to be made at our arrival. Clean hotel, 7-10 min to City Center, buses towords most locations far or nier(although not to reliable on arrival hours) . No one disturbed us with cleaning the room, is how we've asked but we always had fresh towels and everything we needed from Reception and HK. To mention some of the staff that made our stay more confortable and went extra mile was Georgiana, Antonio and Sanziana...but everyone is nice and willing to help.

I had a good time at the Ibis budget Cardiff Centre while travelling around the United Kingdom with a colleague of mine. There weren't any issues pertaining to the check-in (the expediency was to be admired) and the quality of the accommodation provided fulfilled my expectations. The staff members were polite and attentive. It's always a plus when all the rooms are equipped with a double bed and I found my own one to be clean, well furnished and cozy. The hotel is located in a quiet area, but it's relatively close to the major landmarks of Cardiff. Maps of the city may be available at the reception desk. The restaurant offers nice Italian cuisine (not sure whether it was with a Welsh touch) and what I found interesting is that you could place your orders from the menu directly to the receptionists. All in all, this is a nice budget hotel that is likely to have an appeal for both backpackers and business travelers.

This is definitely a budget hotel. It is relatively well located, near the Red Dragon Center, and a Hop on Hop Off bus station.

Check in was quick and easy. The room is tiny, but it is a budget hotel, so you can't expect more. The bathroom is literally a capsule with shower. The bed is very comfortable. However there are no coffee making facilities in the room, but coffee and tea is available in the reception area.

Breakfast is a continental breakfast, with croissants, toast, some cold meats and cheese and cereals.

If you are looking for a well situated budget hotel in Cardiff, this one ticks all the boxes.
