I was very disappointed with the Iona Inn. The room was very poorly maintained with burnt out lights that did not get replaced, showers that did not work, a creaky bed and very worn furniture. The only nice thing here was that the clerk used to live in Toronto which is where I am from. The walls are pretty thin...

If you're going to Derry for a night out this is a brilliant place to stay. You can be as rowdy as you please and party all night. However if you are going as a couple and actually wanting sleep, then try somewhere else. This place is on a very rowdy street and other guests ran up and down shouting...

We had the apartment over Dominos. Really great price for the amount it could potentially sleep. 2 double bedrooms, then a double bed and 2 singles in the large kitchen\lounge area. 1 en-suite bathroom and 1 full bathroom. Very central, right across the road from the Iona Inn itself. Staff were lovely and helpful, breakfast was included and great. Will...

Stayed at Iona's yes it is basic but clean. Highlight of our stay was the wee night downstairs in the pub next door. Donna you were the best singer ( now group was great) but people were very friendly and made us feel very welcome looking forward to breakfast in the morning.

We were looking for a place to stay near the station as we were touring using bus and train. The Iona could not be better placed-10 minutes walk with backpack. Then to get to the main part of the city a short walk over the 2 level bridge. (It took us a few goes to find the subway which is...

Luckily we were only staying one night. Reception is unmanned; check in with the barman at the pub next-door. Unattractive and unwelcoming, with mismatched furniture, the room was at least clean. Good breakfast and handy location within walking distance of the old town across the River Foyle. Parking is available at your own cost at an unsecured, open-air council carpark...

My friend had made reservations about 6 months in advance. Centrally located on the poor side of town near the river. When we arrived they didn't have our reservations for a double room, so the clerk assigned us a queen bed which was lumpy. Room had mismatched furniture and hadn't been dusted for awhile. Place looked trashy with furniture in...

No complaints. Great breakfast. The rooms are what they are - beds, tvs and bathrooms. I was worried about the noise that some of the other reviewers mentioned. We didn't hear a peep. Great pub downstairs. A 3 minute walk from the train, and 6 minutes across the bridge to the the downtown.

Looks shabby and a little seedy from the outside, but the service and the rooms were wonderful for the price and the location. I would go there again. The staff was nice. There is a local's bar next to the hotel and the hotel has a chair lift for disabled guests.

Stayed in the Iona for work. Enjoyed great craic and company in the bar adjacent to it. Owners were lovely as were the pints! Room was modern, clean and very reasonably priced. Woke up to a great breakfast and service to boot. I'll definitely be back
