The house is in an ideal location and the room is perfect. Good breakfast served by marge, the owner.. Marge is very chatty and will cook at what time you like in the morning. Situated just outside Inverary, just a 10 minute walk along the sea front to the Main Street. Unfortunately marge will be selling up and moving later...

We had a wonderful stay at Solway House just a few days ago. Marj was such a welcoming host, the room was lovely, and the breakfast was fabulous (even though we were dashing a little to Kennacraig for the Islay ferry). Please do stay at SH; you'll be pleased with your choice.

Echoing previous reviews - all the good things they say and no negatives. Couldn't ask for better and most reasonably priced (we felt it was underpriced and were delighted to give a little extra). Marj is the most charming host we have encountered to date.

The room is spacious and offers all facilities (ensuite, extra coffee/tea/biscuits). The host is welcoming and open to friendly chats, offers breakfast at any reasonable time, and prepares some home-made bread: superb. Location perfect (10mins walk to centre). If there on a Saturday get to The George as at around 21.30 live music starts: nice time to blend with the...

I stayed at Solway House last year while visiting friends and made sure I had a reservation this time when I was up this way again. Lovely room as before and Marj makes you feel right at home - loved the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon! Even the weather was bright and sunny!

We stayed only for one night but had a more positively intense experience than at any other B&B before. Intense in the meaning of our personal, very warm and authentic host Marj - from the welcoming until the good bye. Marj ensured that we had all we wanted, needed and could possibly desire. The whole house is very clean, luxurious...

Great location, with views of the loch, so immaculately clean, light and airy, spacious, comfortable, with a wonderful breakfast (even homemade bread!!!) but the best thing about our stay was our wonderful hostess Marj, she couldn't have been more...

We had a fantastic overnight stay at Solway House. Marj could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean, as well as stylish and homely. Marj made a tasty breakfast which was enjoyed in her spacious, farmhouse style, modern kitchen. She catered superbly for meat-eating and vegetarian requirements, with delicious home-made bread too. Thanks...
