Lovely room (6), though no view and only just clean enough. Some of the furniture a little tired too. Receptionist surly to the point of rudeness, but other staff friendly and helpful. Food was good, though some items on the menu are very expensive for what they are. Bar and eating areas cosy. Generous breakfast brought to the room. Dog...

What a welcoming ambience this pub offers. On a cold winter's day this is the place to be. An excellent place for a pub lunch that was recommended by my brother. Live fire and unpretentious decor. Staff very courteous and plenty to choose from menu.

Visited the George on a stop off from a couch trip and we were recommended to give it a try. Seated quickly in restaurant by a roaring log fire and we were impressed by the menu. Good choice of local produce and a very nice level of service. Prices for food on offer a bit on the high side and...

Booked in advance and took our dog. We had an early meal so took advantage of the cheaper lunchtime menu. Absolutely delicious meals , good portions too. Good variety of meals to suit all palates , kids menu and a specials board too. There is limited parking at the side of the restaurant, more down the street. Staff were friendly...

I have been to the George before but never got round of posting a review. Once again the George did not disappoint! The food, service, atmosphere and experience of the place on the whole was great. The portion size was very good, my partner had a fillet steak which is probably the biggest fillet steak I've seen in a restaurant...

Last January my partner and his parents spent a weekend with another two couples at The George as a break away from where we live in Glasgow. Inveraray is a perfect candidate as a getaway from the city as it's only about an hour and a half's scenic drive away. Loch Lomond, Loch Long, and Loch Fyne, as well as...

We went to Georges with a dog we were looking after - it was dog friendly but that was not the best thing. We had the sausages and also the mussels. The sausages were awesome but the mussels were incredible - a highly recommend. The local ale was pretty good too. I would go back there again.
