The atmosphere first of all in here is gorgeous. All of our meals were delightful. Staff were friendly and really attentive. This is not our first visit and certainly won’t be our last when holidaying in Scotland. Such a magical pub.

We arrived in the afternoon. The public bar was fantastic, with a great mix of locals and tourists watching the rugby and horse racing. The food in the restaurant was top quality. Both drinks and food were very reasonably priced. I wish we had stayed longer, we'll definitely be back.

First time in nearly 40 years, will try and make it sooner the next time. Went for dinner and found it excellent. A very historic place and in the words of the late Michael Winner the food was “historic” too! Excellent pub grub/fine dining at good prices. Easy to see why it was busy on a Wednesday night.

My husband and I had our final night of our honeymoon here, we stayed in the merchants room. We've previously stayed in the library, a superior room and brought the kids over for a day lunch. Qe love a wee overnight and this hotel is one of our favourite hotels to stay in. The hotel is very old, and the furnishings reflect this and add to it's character. The rooms are always clean, staff have always been pleasant. The food has been brilliant any time we have eaten there. Can't fault the hotel, and we are excited to be going back in feb xx

I’ve been going to The George Hotel for years and I have always had a fantastic time. The rooms are clean and cosey, the food is great and the atmosphere in the bar is brilliant especially when there is live music on at the weekends. The staff are normally professional, friendly and go out do their way to help. However, my recent visit to The George was ruined by Pablo the restaurant manager. His behaviour towards my dad who is a pensioner and partially deaf was rude, unprofessional and completely unnecessary. We were both shocked and appalled as were the people who were sitting at the tables next to us who observed his behaviour. He really should reconsider whether a career in the hospitality sector is for him because his poor attitude is in danger of damaging the reputation of what is a great wee hotel.
