2021 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
Rudha-Na-Craige are proud to have been awarded TripAdvisor Traveller Awards 2020, 2021 and Best of The Best 2021 and rated 4* by the Scottish Tourist Board. Come visit and see why. Rudha-Na-Craige is a beautiful Victorian house in the town of Inveraray on the west coast of Scotland overlooking the picturesque Loch Fyne with its rolling hills backdrop and Built in 1863 by the Duke of Argyll for his Procurator Fiscal. The current Duke's ancestors also lived in this historic house. It was requisitioned by the Admiralty during the war years when the Loch shores were used for naval training. In 2006, it was completely restored to its former glory and modernised to provide what can only be described as 'Luxury Accommodation'. We are proud of our hot and powerful showers and comfy beds! The house is situated next to the town's nine hole golf course which is open to all visitors. The Town of Inveraray offers many attractions such as the Jail and Castle for those on vacation and is an excellent base for touring in Argyll & Bute and beyond. Our six bedrooms are individually designed with fabrics, furnishings, period artwork and ornaments specially chosen to reflect the character of the rooms. All have en-suite bathrooms and splendid views across the loch and garden. Only the single room does not have a loch view but compensates with a panoramic garden view. A combination of fresh fruit, cereals followed by porridge, kippers or a freshly made Full Scottish breakfast will get your day off to a hearty start! Complimentary Wi-Fi available throughout the house.

Hosts Rob and Jana run what is simply a wonderful 'home from home' accommodation! A very warm welcome was received and the location itself [literally on Loch Fyne] is simply stunning and only a 10-minute stroll into the town where you will find the great Samphire Seafood Restaurant which is highly recommended. Getting out and about to the stunning countryside is very easy and I cannot recommend a stay at 'Rudha na Craige' highly enough.

Enjoyed two wonderful nights in room with beautiful views of the loch. Room is spacious and Robert was so welcoming. Jana cooked a great breakfast, including delicious vegetarian options. Robert provided great tips of roads to take and those to avoid. Highly recommend a stop here. Inveraray is a bit of a hidden gem.

The house is beautifully presented and clean. We slept well, the beds are extremely comfortable. The showers are fantastic. The complimentary slippers in the entrance hall are a nice gesture so you can leave your muddy walking boots by the door. Breakfast deserves a special mention, both for the chef and service. The full Scottish is excellent and I have never had such perfectly cooked poached eggs. The hosts endeavour to source all ingredients locally and the quality is exceptional. We can’t wait to return.

We’ve just left this beautiful place, overlooking Loch Fyne, which we hired in its entirety for our wee wedding. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, it was absolutely perfect. The owners, Rob & Jana, welcomed us in to their fabulous home and couldn’t do enough for us and our x8 guests. They went above and beyond to help ensure our wedding was stress-free and the happiest day we could ever have wished for. They put us in touch with everyone we needed including the local registrar, Lorna Wilson and a fabulous florist, Sarah McDonald who were both absolutely fantastic. They helped us organise delicious meals for our party of guests at The Cottage and The George and had the weather been a little more predictable, they would have organised a bbq or picnic for us in their beautiful garden - in short, nothing was too much trouble. Anything you might need, Rob has on ‘speed dial’! The en-suite bedrooms are all gorgeous; stylish, spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. There’s a comfortable lounge to relax in in the evenings and the breakfast room, where we had our ceremony, is magical with its stunning views over Loch Fyne. They turned it into a fairytale setting for our special day and organised a delicious buffet to keep us going until we went out for dinner in the evening and then offered to drive us all as it was pouring with rain! We could go on and on but as a final note, Jana’s full Scottish breakfast is to die for and really set us up for the day. The location is stunning and ideal for exploring Inveraray and the surrounding area. We loved every minute, we can’t wait to return and we can’t recommend highly enough. You don’t need to be getting married to enjoy this gem of a place, it’s so romantic and perfect for a short break or longer and if you’re there on business a stay will make you think you’re on holiday! Thank you so much Rob & Jana.
