I stayed at The Kelvin for four nights and never saw anyone, excellent social distancing ! My keys were left on a table by the door. My single room was at the back of the house and was quiet except for one morning when it was foggy and the ferryboats were using their foghorns. The room was serviced daily, was nice and clean and the WiFi was good. I would return.

At the last minute, we were looking for a pet friendly hotel for a night before our ferry journey. The Kelvin hotel was perfect. We experienced a warm welcome and both check in and check out was easy. The room was ideal. We had a dishwasher, fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle and breakfast bar. The room was comfortable and clean. We had a good sleep before our journey the next day. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel or stay there again.

This place is just wonderful, much much nicer than the premier inn across the road. The beds are SO COMFORTABLE!!! The rooms are spotless and bright, with modern furniture and a good sized, high quality TV. There are large desks in the room so if you need a place to do makeup or work, you can. The bathrooms are bright and clean, with a large shower with glass screen (no shower curtains here!) and high water pressure. Towels are white and fluffy, as is the bedding which is bright white and spotless. The carpets are fluffy and nice to walk on, and the windows are high, letting in lots of light, with both blinds and curtains to completely block out the light. Even though the place was fully booked during our stay, we never heard any of the other guests. Complimentary tea and coffee is also provided, along with a bowl of sweets on the check in table every day which changes every day! This hotel offers a zero-contact check in and out, as well as a place to store your luggage before check in and after check out. We could have easily gone the stay without bumping into our host (very covid secure) but when we did bump into her, she was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Five stars from us and highly recommend!
