The only long term solution to this hotel is to knock it down and re-build but the satff are doing well with a building which is not really fit for purpose. In fairness to this hotel there are no really good hotels in Oban and this hotel is better than many. If you have to look behind the wardrobe for...

This hotel is locked in the 1950's and urgently needs massive investment or should be closed forthwith. Fixtures fittings, furniture, decoration are appalling. Our bedroom as allocated with a window open and a fan (why?) running was overheated on a 10deg C day! It seemed an unlagged boiler vent passed through the room. All other non smoking rooms were said...

We read the views online and knew to expect that the hotel's decor is dated, but we were OK with that as we just wanted somewhere to sleep for 4 nights at a reasonable cost. But the room was a worse than we expected. It was tiny with the toilet and shower in a room the size of a cupboard...

Overall, old-fashioned & scruffy. Needs a makeover big-style. Bedroom was cramped & the bathroom dire. Staff were fine, & breakfast was good. The price charged was excessive for the standards provided

I found this hotel ghastly, the only one plus was we could take the dog! The decor and cleanliness was substandard and for £140 for two nights, I would rather have bought a good tent! Staff ok, shower area dirty and bed linen from 1950, we only stayed as had booked with two other couples, I will not be back

Quirky, old fashioned, like stepping back in time! Also clean, functional and a cracking breakfast, but the absolute best part of our stay was the brilliant staff, especially Andrea who served our breakfast every day, what a diamond. I forgot my charger no problem borrow ours I forgot my swimsuit, here one here you can borrow, My dog was welcome...

Thus a really quirky hotel. It's from another age. The furniture is from the 1950s, the decor is old, there's steep stairs and the bannister rail shakes- yet the staff are very friendly and the breakfast good. The bed was hard but we had a good night's sleep. The shower us warm rather than hot. I never got round to...

I booked this hotel for 7th to 10th April after failing to get accommodation we were more familiar with. Then I read some of the reviews. I have to say that I was somewhat wary on my choice but decided to press on. On our arrival, which was slightly ahead of the 'book in' time,we were made very welcome and 'booked...
