In a great location, very close to the ferry terminal. We had a two nights with breakfast for £99 deal, good value for money. Continental breakfast includes croissants, blueberry muffins, cereal, fresh fruit pots, yoghurt, toast, tea and coffee. Nicely presented and very tasty. It is served in the small bar/reception area so you book in to one of three time slots. On the first morning we had to leave earlier than planned to catch the ferry and popped in to cancel breakfast. We were given a paper bag and told to take things with us. A lovely touch. There is no lift but we were offered help to take our cases to the room. The bed was comfortable and clean, the en suite bathroom was modern and had a nice, powerful shower. We used the app Your Parking Space to book our car into Tesco car park, only a few minutes walk from the Ranald and £5 For more than 24 hours. We ate at The Lorne, a few doors from the hotel. Lovely wee pub with excellent food and friendly, welcoming staff. I'd happily repeat the whole experience.

My wife & I stayed here on a 2 night B & B basis using a itison voucher. Check-in nice & easy with a pleasant receptionist. We had been allocated a Grand plus room on the first floor. Nice clean warm room with loads of space. No views from this room at the back of the hotel but lovely and quiet. Bed was comfortable with fluffy pillows and a huge duvet. The ensuite was modern with a great power shower. Lots of tea, coffee etc in the room with extra available from reception. Breakfast is continental which was adequate including gluten free bread and cereal. The only improvement to breakfast would be the addition of more selection in the preserves and add in cold meat/cheese. During our stay there was no cooked breakfast on offer. Overall this hotel has a great location within a few minutes walk of the rail station, ferry terminal and the esplanade. I would definitely stay here again, however it is branded as a metro hotel so don't expect a full Scottish breakfast with a concierge service etc. Small hotel with friendly staff in an ideal location.

Booked 2 nights through Groupon for £99 for 2 including breakfast -honestly don’t have any complaints apart from the parking issue , which we manage to resolve thanks to another hotel guest. Download the Your parking Space app , this will tell you where you can park nearby. We parked in Tesco which is only a couple of mins walk from the hotel for only £5 for 2 full days. Big difference from £24 at nearby Rockfield car park which looks decidedly dodgy ! Parking will always be an issue in Oban , so you have to take this into account ! This is a great app btw.

Very claustrophobic room. but clean.. no staff after 7 pm ! not suitable for a disabled guest. no help with a suitcase getting up a flight of stairs. Strange breakfast, but adequate . The Pub next door was the only place to get a meal in the evening. recommend the Macaroni Cheese ! good price.

The Ranald Hotel is in a great position near the centre and sea front of Oban. Room was modern and very clean. We really enjoyed the continental breakfast which included lovely fresh fruit. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We will return.
