Once you get the passed the noisy drunks and into your room - it's a nice room. Getting in wasnt easy. Ring the bell and noone answers. Says go to the bar downstairs. Passed the singing drunks and the bouncers - you enter Friday night covid city pub. No masks - cheek to jowel. No covid precautions here. Went straight out and rung the buzzer until someone came. Enjoyed the bar music from my room to well past 1am. Did the job as emergency stayover but certainly wouldnt choose this place.

Stayed here one night. Room was clean missed having a kettle and that in the room. The bed was soft maybe a little too soft for us. The bathroom clean the shower was amazing!!! I was shocked that we couldn't hear any of the noise from the bar downstairs. We did try and have dinner in it but it was so busy we changed our minds. Didn't have breakfast there so can't comment on that.

We booked a private room with an ensuite. Room was very big with a newly updated and modern bathroom. The room itself could do with updating. It had great views over the water. More attention to detail is needed when cleaning as found quite a few hairs left in room. No breakfast is provided, but there are pubs on site, and very easy to walk into the town where all the main restaurants are. There is no free parking but there are paid council parks on either side of the property. This is fine for an overnight stay as we parked after 6pm and only paid for 1 hour the next morning. The check-in process was very confusing, the first door I went to it told me to go back down the stairs to another part of the building, then I went up the next lot of stairs and the door was locked, it said to ring bell. I rang a few times and no one came, it said on the sign if no one was available to go down to the pub. I went into the pub where I was ignored by staff behind the counter - one was serving but other people were available and no one asked if they could help. I finally flagged down a woman and she said she would go up to reception. I go back up and there is a line of people waiting on the stairs trying to get in. There are two doors and one says to close behind you, and the woman in front of me closed it in my face... So it took about 15+ minutes to get checked in cause I had to wait until last.

We come here since years, but the last few times weren't so great. This time we wanted to check in at 3pm and couldn't get in, nobody at reception. Stood in the rain for 30 minutes until somebody showed up. Not great. And the kitchens used to be well equipped, you could get eggs and toast and all that from the fridge and leave the money in the honesty jar. This time we were here, there was nothing. Just instant coffee and tea, even the cafetieres have been removed. Fridge empty, nothing for breakfast. The list of prices is still on the fridge, so it looks like nobody cared. Even though the place was fully booked! Other people were saying the same thing, it's not what it used to be. Still nice views and a good location obviously, but it seems they are using Covid as an excuse to not do much anymore. No room cleaning either, we had to ask for toilet paper every day, and had to take out the bin ourselfes.
