We were very fortunate to find the Hawthornbank Guest House for our first visit to Oban. The house itself is a charming Victorian situated high enough above the harbor to provide beautiful views of the port and islands, but a very easy walk to George Street. Our room was comfortable and immaculate, with a large wardrobe that easily held our...

This was our first visit to Oban and we were very lucky to find such a comfortable, centrally located place to stay. Large hotel chains often come up blank when asked for a double room and a twin next to each other, but this independent little B&B accommodated us just so, with panoramic views over Oban harbour. The house itself...

Spent three nights at Hawthornbank Guest House on the recommendation of friends. We had the ground floor room which was small but adequate, very clean and tastefully furnished/decorated. Only fault was the creaky bed! Very central location and quiet surroundings. Lovely, beautifully cooked breakfasts. Bottled water in room. Very friendly & helpful hosts.

Thank you for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed your stay. By the way, we will be changing the bed in that room over the next few weeks. -Ian

We only stayed here for one night but had a wonderful stay. We had a warm welcome and our room had a great view and was very tastefully furnished in the style of the guesthouse. It was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. We were pleased that we had parking on-site but could easily walk into town. I...

Morven was extremely welcoming when we arrived and very friendly. The rooms were very clean and comfortable just right for an overnight stop before we boarded the ferry to Castlebay. Its a great location and you can walk into town. There is off street parking and the rooms have WIFI. The breakfast was great and would highly recommend this B&B...

The Guesthouse is freshly and nicely renovated. It is easy to reach by car and it has a parking. Still, it is close to the center of Oban, restaurants and McCaig Tower. Each room has a nice lay out and good quality furniture. Maybe it is useful to know: the rooms have en suite shower room with toilette, something not...

Great experience we had staying here. Morven (the owner) was quite welcoming and made us feel at home right from the start. The house has a nice terrace with a couple of wooden benches and a table, overlooking the bay area. It's also close from the town center, a 10-minute walk down from the house. The breakfast was tasty but...

We chose this as a stop over before our ferry, the name rang a bell and we were sure we had stayed here four years ago. When we pulled up we had. The lady of the house is lovely and gave us a very warm welcome, she remembered us from our previous bike, a red Ducati. The stay was just...

I'm a little late in writing this review, as we stayed in June 2016. Ask for directions prior to arriving, since they served us well. We had two rooms, one for my wife and I and another for my in-laws. A bottle of wine was placed in my in-laws room for their anniversary, which was a very nice touch. The...

Stayed here for one night on our way to the Isle of Mull and would suggest that it's the best B&B we've stayed in. Morven made us welcome from the minute we arrived until the time we left the following morning. The location is ideal as it is within a 5 minute walk of the town centre by following the...
