My wife and I stayed here for two nights at the end of a trip all over Scotland. What a fantastic place to finish. The house is really really great. I almost found it talking to me when I went inside, it said ' Hello, will you stay ? ' The decor is subtle sophistication, with 'quirky' all over the...

Everything at Maplehurst surpasses expectation. The house is a work of art in itself, but it doesn't feel like you are staying in a museum; you are made so welcome by Peter and Silke and your every need is anticipated and catered for. You feel like the star in a wonderful 1920s film. Just sit back and enjoy the pampering,...

We were looking for somewhere to stay overnight en-route to the Highlands. What a wonderful find. Being a lover of the arts and crafts movement and in particular William Morris it was such a treat to stay in such a beautiful guest house. We were in the William Morris room but the other two rooms looked lovely too. Very spacious...

What a beautiful house! I had a fantastic stay, from the gorgeous comfy bedding & pillows to the fluffiness of the towels to the wonderful scented toiletries! The little things really do go a long way here at Maplehurst and the attention to detail is second to none. I had to leave early in the morning missing breakfast so there...

Beautiful house and garden, impeccable tastefully presented. Wish I could have paid to see round the well staged property. As for a well run Guest House? My advice stay somewhere else and visit, as this is the most poorly run place I have ever encountered. Rooms not serviced, an 2nd days breakfast service very slow with the apology reason given....

Dear Stewart, I contemplated long to how I was going to address your, what seems to have been a dramatic and dreadful experience but I have decided I'll keep it short and crisp and just say we are sorry! Thank god our other 159 guest reviews are excellent and two very good and that I think say's more than anything...

In Gala towards the end of our European trip, Maplehurst was easily the best place we stayed overall. Great place, rooms, breakfast and hosts - including forwarding my glasses when I left them in reception :)

Stayed in Maplehurst with my husband, brother & his girlfriend and my parents for a much needed family weekend away. From the moment we arrived on a rainy dark Friday evening to the moment we left on the Sunday, host Peter was attentive without over stepping the boundaries of privacy. Breakfast was beautifully presented, and delicious! As breakfast is pre-ordered...

Can't say enough good words about my stay at Maplehurst. From the moment I arrived Peter made me feel at home, and nothing was any trouble at all. I was in the Mackintosh room which was pure luxury... a comfortable bed, lovely toiletries, there has clearly been a lot of attention to small detail here which goes a long way!...

We had an amazing time here. Stayed in many b&b's and hotels and this had the magic touch. Silke and Peter run an exceptional B&B a lovely warm welcome, beautiful grounds and rooms. The extra little touches gave it a special feeling. We will be returning soon, fantastic experience
