Stayed at this hotel while visiting family with my daughter but very disappointed. The building is imposing and has an attractive reception area and lounge but it went rapidly downhill from there. The family room I was put in had a bunk bed in it covered in dust and the decoration and quality of furnishing generally in the room was...

Booked a dinner, bed and breakfast deal for 3 nights. Good choice of meals and breakfast freshly cooked to order. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was fairly compact but comfortable enough for the short stay. Only real disappointment was the absence of functioning wi-fi - the staff said it was being addressed but this is a modern essential...

There is not much choice locally and this is one of the better hotels. The staff try and are glad to please and some of the rooms are great ( 1 and 2) but some are very small and worth much less. Plenty of space to drink and eat and lovely communal rooms. Good selection of whiskey at the bar...

Stayed here on a last minute decision after a long day driving. Phoned the hotel to book and they took our details and booked us in. It was dark when we arrived but the hotel looked lovely on the drive up to it. Ample parking. We were greeted by Nathan who also took our phonecall. His customer service was excellent...

Excellent location for Scottish borders. Very comfortable bed, spacious classically decorated room, biscuits replenished every day in hospitality tray, staff all very friendly and willing and helpful, different variant on service every day depending on staff, but all good. Confusion over bill sorted efficiently. Only mystery was the absence of bread rolls at dinner. Bread plate and knife, but no...

I stay here regularly for business, and I am always happy to return. The staff are great people, all friendly and can never do enough for you. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting the borders or Hawick. Dinner was served promptly, piping hot and cooked fresh! I loved it.

We stayed here whilst walking the Borders Abbeys Way. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay, with friendly staff, nice room and a good breakfast. We didn't have dinner, but the menu looked nice. We enjoyed a drink in the bar, and ideally I would have liked to see some real ales, or bottles of craft beers available, but it was...

We just had a two night stay at this hotel - my parents, my husband and I and our small baby. The hotel has great gardens and is about 10-15-minutes walk from the centre of town. There is also a pretty sitting room at the front, looking on to the gardens, with a truly amazing, very ornate ceiling. The food...
