Just has an overnight stay at the Tontine, what a pleasant surprise! Beautiful en-suite bedroom, from the decor, upholstery to wallpaper everything done in a very professional manner, the bathroom was finished to a very high standard. We very much enjoyed our dinner in the hotel's restaurant, all the staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble, the...

The Tontine is situated in the High Street and, in addition to a few car parking spaces at the front of the hotel, there is a car park at the rear. This can be accessed either by driving round the block or by driving down the narrow alley to the side of the hotel. The Tontine is exactly what I...

Hopefully that return visit can be planned for a future date, when you will be able to choose a bedroom allocation in the original house. Without question the hotel occupies a great location, a comfortable lounge and an excellent autumn menu. Reception staff offer a warm and sincere welcome. All staff were courteous and very pleasant at all times, which is not easily found in hotels today. My husband with the help of guide Finlay Wilson discovered that there is salmon in the River Tweed,...

We stay at The Tontine with our two dogs regularly when my husband goes fishing on the Tweed. You really get the best of everything there. It's a quality cosy hotel that caters perfectly for outdoorsy guests and their four legged friends.... even providing water and treats for dogs in the bar! The rooms are clean, comfortable and warm and...

Had a fabulous night in this lovely old hotel in this quaint Borders town. Great rooms, comfortable beds with Hypnos mattresses. Great coffee and homemade cakes / biscuits in the day, really good locally sourced food in the 2 restaurants. The staff are great, can fix up all sorts of activities and happy to give ideas.

Peebles is a lovely town on the Tweed - ask for an odd-numbered room and you will have a river view😃. We stayed for a weekend which coincided with a Forestry and food festival which was a nice way to spend the day. Our bed was the biggest and most comfortable I have slept in for a long time and...
