This stay was the last night of a 15 day tour of Scotland, moving on nearly every day. It was outstanding in every respect. Stayed in a basement room for one night. This had originally been the coal-hole and had been wonderfully converted into a double en-suite room, all mod-cons and with many additions and ornaments - one really has... More

This is a lovely Guest House just on the edge of Dumfries, in a really convenient location and very close to the station. The rooms are all individually furnished with comfortable beds, and very clean, with everything you could wish for, including selection of books. There is a guest sitting room with lots of books, and a big guest TV... More

I have stayed at Hazeldean at least twice a year for many years. Would not consider anywhere else in Dumfries. It has off-street parking and is located in a residential area only a short walk from the centre of town. The only time I didn't stay there was because it was, not surprisingly, fully booked! I always try to book... More

Having once again visited Hazledean I feel it is time to share what a very very friendly welcoming environment it is. The hosts Billy and Wilma go the extra yard to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. Rooms I have stayed in (one, two and five)all deliver the same high quality one would require. Breakfast contains all... More

Easy to find and off street parking are only a start. Also excellent breakfast with plenty of choice and Billy was very helpful with his advice on where to visit and places to eat. Its an unusual B and B but in a good way, love the four poster beds and décor .For me the best thing was the range... More

We had a lovely experience at Hazeldean House! Billy and Wilma (and their wee doggie Susie) were extraordinarily welcoming and hospitable, lavishing genuine care upon their guests. The house is gorgeous, with such obvious pride taken in the decor and amenities, and the flowers are utterly spectacular. It was a pleasure to stay there and we hope to return one... More

We stayed here whilst working in Dumfries, the facilities are excellent and the welcome we received from Wilma and Billy was lovely. The house is amazing with fantastic period decor, a house with lots of character and fabulous flower gardens. Parking was available onsite and Billy even assisted me in moving my car to it's bay. Our room was huge... More

This is the most wonderful B & B we have stayed in. It is a beautiful house, both outside and inside, with wonderful gardens front and back. Our bedroom (room 3) was beautifully appointed, with 2 kingsize sleigh beds. Breakfast is served in the conservatory and was so tasty - but no black pudding on offer (perhaps I should have... More
