4nights spent and enjoy being looked after by the most friendly , obliging staff. Our party of 27 "golfers" enjoyed 1st class breakfasts and 4 course excellent dinners. The pianist was a nice touch in a lovely setting, wonderful reception rooms, comfortable bedrooms and a very nice pool and sauna. Value for money that gets.,a strong recommendation .

We had 2 rounds of golf and 1 night dinner, bed and breakfast (Sun/Mon) at a fantastic price. The public areas of the hotel are lovely, food was fantastic and the staff very friendly and helpful. The dinner in the package was a very high standard (4 courses). The golf course was very good and a good test of golf. The...

We stayed for 3 nights last week and our room was absolutely amazing Rm58, huge with views to the rear of the hotel, the staff were so efficient and nothing was too much trouble, a delicious ice cream was prepared and served on the terrace by Margaret, with such aplomb. Very restful, lovely woodland walks, beautiful lounges. Such a lovely...

Perfect from start to finish. Beautiful room, beautiful location, attentive but unobtrusive service, delicious food and great wildlife spotting. Really impressed with the quality of the golf course...greens and fairways in good nick and design makes the best of the vistas and natural features. Just the break we needed to recharge the batteries.

This was a return visit having been here last year. It was even better. Excellent service, great food, (proper cuisine!), hot, tasty and fresh; lovely breakfasts and excellent attentive service from everybody. The golf course is well kept and challenging enough and never got too crowded, being easy to book tee times on the day. Gatehouse of Fleet and the...

Hard to agree it's a very good destination. Not quite committed to that. But there are some above average features. So I'm erring on the side of generous. The "new carpet" in the second lounge was an exciting talking point, and yet its colour and design is incredibly old fashioned. Investing in new but not actually bringing this place up...

First visit to this hotel. Spent 2 nights on DBB in Forest Wing balcony room. Main house is beautiful. Lounges and dining room lovely. Period furnishings and décor do not disappoint. Bedroom huge. Super kingsize bed. Loads of wardrobe space. TV reception not great but got ITV news ok. Bathroom fine but toiletries limited. No fridge/mini bar or safe Tea/coffee...

Stayed again for a golf break, everything was perfect, even the weather, we had a forest room this time. Room was spacious w 2 bathrooms, shame we had twin beds rather than a double, & beds are rather firm, but we still slept ok. The hotel grounds are really beautiful, especially the golf course & lake. Lots of cycling in...

This is a fantastic place to come on holiday. A group of us came for 3 days - and it has virtually everything. The rooms are large and superb, the food is better than one might get in an Edinburgh restaurant, you can have golf on an excellent 18 hole course, there is a large swimming pool and jacuzzi, a...

Our daughter (and now son in law!) had their wedding here last week. I cannot praise the staff highly enough---everything about the whole weekend was just perfect! The manager Robert could not have been more helpful and he and the staff did everything to ensure that we all had a totally unforgettable day! This is the perfect wedding venue---doesn't get...
