Have just spent 2 nights here- couldn't t have asked for anything more. Great value, such friendly helpful people, clean and attractive room, fab ambience all round and good food/ drinks ( although a little disappointed that 'game offer' detailed in newsletter not actually available) One of those places that you can't wait to return to ( and hope we...

Just returned from another excellent 3 night Hogmanay Break at this hotel. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed in the care of attentive hosts Chris and Sue and their staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Meeting our fellow guests over mulled wine and mince pies in the cosy lounge on arrival set the tone, while taking part (optional)...

We had our work's Christmas Lunch here - I was under the impression that the food was of a good standard, and it may just have been that it was a works party and the hotel were not that bothered about a works outing, but the food was very disappointing indeed and to be honest the whole atmosphere was a...

Many thanks for taking the time to review and glad you all enjoyed the food - The Shiraz in question is called Spitting Spider from Dowie Doole, Australia - we charge £4.50 for a 125ml and £5.65 for a 175ml - hence the £9 for your large 250ml. Sorry it left you spitting feathers but all our prices are listed...

We have recently moved to the area and have found it difficult to find good quality food. The Selkirk has a good choice of food on offer, the Pannacotta was particularly delicious, possibly one of the best I've had! A nice variety of wine to choose from, it has also been refreshing to see proper French coffees! Thanks for the...

Not just any hotel, but one of the best I've visited in a very long time. From the welcoming, friendly and professional staff and warm ambience in the Bar to the really impressive food combining imaginative presentation and ingredients served in the Bistro/ Restaurant. Our twin bedded room was lovely with well designed en-suite. A very pleasant experience which made...

A great hotel with superb staff who go the extra mile for you. The staff are a great asset. Breakfasts were very good indeed with a great selection. The food is cooked to order and there is plenty tea, coffee etc. Worth a stay.

A very well run hotel with an excellent restaurant. Our room was spotless and well appointed, the staff were very friendly and efficient, the meals in the restaurant were superb, reasonably priced for the quality and served in either the formal restaurant or the more relaxed bistro/bar. We knew we would like it on first sight of the sparkling glasses-...

Standard type of small town hotel restaurant with very high service standard. Traditional dishes with fancy twiddly bits but not scary for the older diner. Lighting bright and decor stark but no carpet so good for walkers, proper separTedisabled toilet. Would recommend for a treat on holiday.
